It's a Girl! Meet the Newest Family Member

Meet our newest family member, Josianna Roxanna Josettelee, born at home on Wednesday March 23. She weighed 7lbs 6oz and is baby #8.

I want to thank everyone who supported us during this joyful and exciting time as we welcome our little princess to her family.

This has been a remarkable and empowering birthing experience for my family and I. After having 7 children, I wanted to experience something different especially when it came to managing the intense waves of contractions as they came on. With each birth I found that when I came to that point I felt that I couldn't go on anymore. If you've given birth, you may have had a similar experience.

Someone once shared with me that their wife had a painless childbirth and I wanted to have this experience. One of the things I encountered was I found myself having to come face to face with my own fears - the fear of the intense contraction waves. This week I want to share how I overcame my fear and also some of what I did to experience a painless child birth and the lessons learned during this time.

I believe that whether or not you've given birth, you'll be able to glean some useful information to help you achieve your own personal goals and overcome your fears so you can ride the waves of whatever overwhelming situation you may face.

Look out tomorrow as we discuss what I did to overcome my fear.

  1. Dear Alicia...Congratulations on the birth of your sweet, new little princess. What a treasure. Look forward to your posts.

But Alicia, I cannot comprehend a "painless" childbirth. Fearless, perhaps, but painless? Uh uh. At least for me, childbirth was the most painful (and rewarding) experience of my life! Take care and have a great Monday. Susan

  3. Thank you Susan. I hear what you're saying. Often times we accept the status quo because that's what we've been taught. But anything is possible even a painless childbirth if we're open to hear what the Spirit has to offer us.

Looking forward to sharing my journey this week.
