Sunday Morning Quote of the Day - Change your Belief, Change your Life!

The thing always happens that you really believe in; and the belief in a thing makes it happen. - Frank Lloyd Wright, 1869-1959

If you find yourself not having the results you want, then perhaps it's time to check with your belief system. It's time to go to the subconscious mind where all of your beliefs are stored from since your childhood up until now. Some of them you may not realize are there controlling your current outcome and you may be wondering why you can't get pass where you are right now.

Think of your subconscious mind as your computer program. In order for a program to get onto your computer you or your programmer would have to install it there. So every time your computer turns on it starts up according to the programming installed on your computer.

If you want a different program you can't just turn on your computer and decide, well, I'm going to change the program and expect it to change. You must first uninstall the original program and then install the new program you desire.

Suppose you decide to add the new program to your computer while the old is still there. That may cause a problem as well, due to conflicting programming. So instead of getting the old results or even the new results, you find that you're coming up with more computer problems.

It is the same thing with your subconscious mind. When you were a child, all through your teenage years you've been programmed by your family, friends and society. Some of these programming you're consciously unaware of but they still influence your life and the way you think about things. So in order to change your outer behaviour and get the results you're looking for, you need to uninstall original programming, get to the root of the original thoughts, ideas and beliefs, consciously make a decision to change them and replace them with the new.

How did these old programming get there? By daily repetition or emotional impact that you've accepted and hold as your belief.

So then, how do you know what you believe?

This is where you need to become quiet, stop and feel your emotions about a situation. Say it's money, stop and ask why you don't believe that you can make $100,000.00. Just listen for the answer to surface and when you hear it that's when you ask the question, "Do I still believe that thought about finances?" If no, then add the new thought and accept that as your new belief, consciously discarding the old belief.

This will take some repetition - reminding yourself that you have a new belief. Much like you have to remind yourself that the year is now 2010 and not 2009. Even though you consciously know that the year has changed you may still have the tendency to write 2009. So by constant conscious reminder and repetition, you plant the new thought into your subconscious until by the time February rolls around, you have no problem with writing 2010.

If you still agree with that belief that you can't make $100,000.00 or whatever it is you desire, then until you change your way of thinking and then ultimately your belief, you'll still continue to get the results you're getting now.

Take the time today to have a talk within yourself and even more so, listen to what your feelings are telling you. They hold the key to what your subconscious mind has been programmed to believe.

Use this method to transform any area of your life - weight loss, relationship, career.

What beliefs do you still hold on to that may be holding you back from getting your desire?

Saturday Tunespiration - Decide what you want

Have you ever heard a song that you fell in love with the moment you heard it but never got the name of the artist that sang it? Maybe your ears were all perked ready to write down the name of the singer so you could get their music only to find that the radio station you were listening to never mentioned their name.

A couple years ago we heard a really cool song on the radio. We really liked the song but the name of the singer was never announced. We didn't even get the name of the song. Every time the song came on the radio we'd get so excited and we'd sing along with the children.

We tried several times to find the song online and on Youtube but to no avail. Last Saturday, which was Roxella's birthday, my husband and I stood in kitchen talking about the song and wishing we could find it. We made a firm decision right there and then that we'd find the song.

I began to do my visualization process.

1) Taking the thought from my head - the desire to find the song.

2) Connecting it with my emotions - feeling the feelings of having my desire. So I visualized the thought going from my head to my feeling place (my inner being, my emotions).

3) I believed and accepted that we would find the song.

4) I visualized the energy of my desire going out into the ether and connecting with the song and returning to me in manifested form.

5) I acted on that belief and off I went to try my search again. I decided to try Youtube but came up with nothing. Then I tried a search in the search engine typing in the radio station and some of the words of the song. Lo and behold, what did I find? You got it - our song.

I clicked into the link which led back to YouTube and I invite you to join in our excitement to listen to our song by Etana - Blessings - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAMZMWvAxjo

We played that song over and over and over and, yes, over. This was Roxella's birthday party song. And did I mention we played it over and over again?

When we make a definite determined focused decision about what we want and then take inspired action, the universe will come in agreement with us and bring us back that clear decision of what we want. Decide what you want!

Go and enjoy the song and when you're done come on back and tell me what you want and I'll share with you the mindset you need to get it.

Getting my body back Friday - Interval Training

If you're working on getting to your ideal weight and nothing seems to be working, perhaps you should consider doing some interval training.

I've found since I started doing interval training that I found my weight loss results increasing.

So what is interval training?

When you alternate between low intensity training and high intensity training, that's interval training. It takes your fat burning to a higher level and accelerates your results.

A high intensity training would be like jogging, skipping ropes or high intensity aerobics etc. Low intensity would be slower pace walking or low intensity aerobics etc. Now when you do 30 secs of high intensity followed by 10 seconds of low intensity training you're giving that extra punch to your workout routine which results in more fat burning. And that's what you want.

So I sometimes do 1 round of jogging which is about 60 seconds or so and then one round of fasting walking. This week I added sprinting to get to a higher level of intensity. Next week I'll alternate between sprinting then walking one day, then jogging then walking the next day and see how that goes for me.

The key is to be willing to give it a go and always aim higher and go just that little beyond your comfort zone each time. This not only affects us physically, but also mentally as well. We develop the willingness to try something new and stretch to reach our highest potential.

Oh by the way, speaking of comfort zones, if you've been following earlier in the Spring I talked about attempting to do the bridge. Yesterday I actually pushed myself about 2 - 3 inches off the ground. Tough, but quite an accomplishment given the fact that I wasn't able to push myself up at all. So, I'll keep trying and strengthening my hands and keep you posted on my progress.

What about you? Are you doing any interval training? What's your routine and how's that working for you?

Spiritual Mastery - Silence - the Tool to Spiritual Mastery

To reach a higher level of spiritual mastery requires discipline in order to accomplish the state of being. It is the decision to disengage from all that inhibits a person from achieving and deepening one’s spiritual connection. Getting away from the crowd for the sole purpose of connecting and reconnecting with our Source is a necessary step in spiritual growth.

Jesus habitually spent time alone in prayer away from his disciples to connect to his Source - to be energized, in filled, inspired, rejuvenated, refreshed, and revived. He encouraged his disciples to do the same.

In these quiet hours with the Spirit, the art of listening deeply to the inner spirit is developed. One begins to listen closely to nature; the trees, the flowers, the insects, the animals, and even the wind and rain, which, at times, carry their own subtle messages. Be open and listen closely and deeply, paying attention to the Spirit’s signs. As we are more aware in the stillness and receive wisdom in the silence, we are imprinted by the Spirit’s character which daily transform and renew our minds. We develop faith and confidence by constant association with the Spirit.

Being in the silence brings us closer and closer to complete harmony with the Spirit. We begin to see through the eyes of the Spirit and our thoughts become more in aligned with the thoughts of the Spirit. Walking in the Spirit becomes a way of life and the more we live in harmony with the Spirit we come to the place where we are completely immersed in the Spirit. There’s no visible difference between the Spirit and us. Jesus said, “You see me, you see the Father because the Father and I are one.”

What do you do to reach a higher level of spiritual mastery?

Inspired action: What's the difference between action and inspired action?

You've been hearing over and over that you should take inspired action, not just any action, but inspired action. So, what does it mean by inspired action anyway and what's the difference between inspired action and regular action? And how do you know when you've got an inspired action to follow?

We'll delve into these questions and find the answer.

Regular action

Everyday you're taking action. You may be engaged in some sort of activity but the activity still does not bring you closer to your goal. You find yourself doing everything else and being stressed but still accomplish nothing.

Difference between inspired action and regular action

So inspired action will be those activities that you take which brings you closer to your goal. These are specific action steps that lead you in a particular direction and that direction is toward your goal.

Know when you have an inspired action to follow

Inspired action brings with it quick results easily and effortlessly. They're ideas that come to you in a way that you may not have thought of before. It may be an 'ah ha' moment, or an "I've never thought about that before." It may be one where you say, "Oh my gosh, there's the answer I've been waiting for." It may come out of nowhere, like someone turns on a light bulb in your head - a bright idea.

When you are engaged in this type of activity - inspired action - you feel joy and not frazzled. You feel one with it and not like you're all over the place trying to fit the pieces together. As a matter of fact, inspired action and ideas come as if to put the next piece of the puzzle you need to move to the next level or to the finish line.

Whenever you're feeling frazzled, stop, relax and ask, "What should I being doing right now? What activity should I be engaged in?" Then wait for the inspired direction for the action you should take next.

Keep in mind that inspired action sometimes may not always make sense to your natural mind. Be willing to flow with it. E.g. Sometimes I decide to write an article and find myself feeling stuck. I stop and ask within for help. At times, the response may not be what I was looking. "Get up and go to the kitchen, or go for a walk outside." I'm in the middle of writing an article here. I need inspiration not 'walkspiration'. But in my walk, as I move from my desk, I find that I become inspired and with that inspiration I'm able to write easily and effortlessly.

So there you have it, the difference between inspired action and action. Decide today to take inspired action in everything you do. You'll feel energized and accomplish a whole lot more.

How do you know when your actions are inspired or not?

Manifest your desire - 4 steps to manifest your desire

Whatever you desire to manifest in your life, you can as long as you know the steps to do so. These four steps will take you through the process of manifestation.

1) Thought

In order to manifest your desire, you must first know and have a clear idea of what it is you desire to have. Once you are clear, make a conscious decision that you shall have your desire.

2) Emotionalized (given feelings)

Take your desire from your head. Visualize it moving from your head to your feeling place, your emotions. Connect with your desire emotionally by feeling the feelings of how you would feel once you experienced your desire. This gives life and energy to your desire.

3) Mix with faith

Add faith to your desire. Faith is believing that you will receive what you desire to have. It is the inner knowing that you will have it, the acceptance of that belief that you will have your desire. E.g. I accept that I will have a new vehicle. I accept that I will reach my ideal weight goal. When you do this, you would have created the spiritual equivalent/form of your desire.

You can now actually see in your imagination the new vehicle and you driving it - that is the spiritual equivalent. Or said another way, it is the imaginary equivalent of your desire.

Act on your inspired ideas, continuously.

4) Physical equivalent/counterpart

As you combine your thought/your desire, coupled with your strong emotional connection and belief (faith, acceptance), this spiritual equivalent communicates to Divine Intelligence sending energy waves into the ether, into the universe. The universe brings back a mirrored image of the spiritual desire, which you hold within your feeling place, into the physical equivalent.

All the help you need, all the ideas you need to manifest your desire will come to your aid.

When you follow these steps with determination and persistence (determination in your belief that you will have your desire and persistence in taking inspired action) you will manifest your desire as long as you hold fast.

What steps do you follow to manifest your desires?

Deliberate miracle creation

This is an amazing miracle creation story from my friend Shayne Hammond.

If there is hell on earth, there must be heaven too.

As I walked through the hospital room door, I can barely put into words the emotion I felt. The first thing I saw was my perfectly formed, lifeless, little boy. He had been placed on a stainless steel trolley right near the door. I remember this so clearly because it made me furious. It felt so wrong for him to be there like that. Time stood still for a moment, as I stared at him. He was perfect, he was real, he just wasn't alive. My emotions raced, from rage, to despair, to disbelief. I found it hard to control them as I looked over at my beautiful, sad, wife being spoken to by the doctor and midwife that had helped her deliver our stillborn baby boy.

I can't remember all the details of that day very well. But I can remember with great clarity the words that were running through my mind.

"THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN"

I decided I would channel my anger into determination and fearlessness.

Jen and I buried our baby boy and made a pact that we would never go through that experience again. We decided we would have another baby and that we would have a boy. We would leave no stone unturned to make sure this next pregnancy and birth would be a success, and that we would have a perfectly healthy baby boy.

We found a book called "SUPERNATURAL CHILDBIRTH", that was extremely helpful as it gave examples of people who had had problem free, pain free, pregnancies and deliveries. Their ideas suited me perfectly.

We wrote out a statement about the pregnancy, the birth, and our baby. The statement described exactly how the pregnancy would go, that it would be a joyful, fun experience for everyone in the family, free from all the superstition surrounding pregnancy.

Our statement said that our baby would be protected throughout the pregnancy and birth. That no harm would come to him in any way, shape or form.

Our statement said that the delivery would be quick. (Our first baby was overdue and had to be induced, and I watched my wife endure an extremely painful labour for nine hours, there were complications that put the baby in a distressed state.)

But not too quick. (Our second baby came so quick that he was born on our bedroom floor.) So we wanted enough time to get to the hospital without rushing, but once we got to the hospital, the labour and delivery would be quick, short, easy and painless.

Twice a day I would read out our statement with enthusiasm and absolute conviction, my wife Jen did the same. Once I had read the statement, I imagined myself standing outside the hospital speaking on my mobile, telling my father what an incredible experience the birth had been, and how perfect our baby boy was.

Our doctor had given us the due date of the 23rd of November. My wife mentioned to me that the last week of a pregnancy was extremely uncomfortable, and did I think we could go for a due date a week earlier. I was very motivated, so I thought, we've gone this far, let’s go for everything. So we chose the date of birth to be the 14th of November.

At 2.00 am on the 15th of November, Jen woke me to tell me her waters had broken. She had a shower. We called my mother who lived close by, to come over to look after our children. We then called the hospital to tell them we'd be there shortly. The hospital told us to hurry given our last child was born at home. But we knew this time everything would be peaceful.

We arrived at the hospital about 30 minutes later and were given a room to wait in. Jen and I sat and chatted for about 20 minutes. I had a cup of coffee, and Jen had a cup of tea.

It was amazing. My wife was in full labour and not experiencing any pain or stress at all!

In the middle of a conversation she stopped talking and said, "Wait, I'm having a contraction.” She closed her eyes for a minute and said, "It's like pressure.” About 10 minutes later she had another strong contraction. I called the nurse, she came in and said, "Don't worry this could take while". She was misled because we were so calm, and Jen was in no pain at all. The nurse said, "I'll just check anyway". She checked Jen's condition. "Oh my goodness you're fully dilated. We better get you to the birthing room now.”

Because our baby was ready, he was very low, so the three of us walked slowly down the corridor to the birthing room. Halfway down the corridor Jen said, "Wait, wait.” We waited for a minute while she had another contraction. No pain, just pressure. Ten more steps and we were in the birthing room. Once in the room the nurse said, "At least wait for the doctor to get here.” She then told me to get Jen's pants off, which I did, as she got things ready for the doctor to arrive. I helped Jen climb up onto the bed and instantly our baby shot out like a bullet into my arms.

Five minutes later the doctor walked in and made the comment, "I see you don't even need me.” "Never a truer word spoken,” I thought. The midwife, who was also pregnant, walked over, and looking at Jen, myself and our baby, said "Now that's how you have a baby, I'm gonna have my baby just like that.”

Half an hour later I stood outside the hospital making the exact same call I'd imagined everyday for the last nine months.

We had a healthy baby boy, born in a pain free, stress free, childbirth.

Born three hours later than the date we had decided on.

Sunday Morning Scripture - Let go and let God!

We can gather our thoughts, but the Lord gives the right answer. We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. Commit your work to the Lord, and then your plans will succeed. Proverbs 16: 1, 9, 3

Whatever you desire to manifest in your life, as you bring your thoughts together and make your plans, listen closely to the still small voice within for guidance. That's where you'll receive the right answer for the thoughts you entertain within your mind.

When you sit to write your plans, listen closely and feel the inner guidance as you're writing out your plans. As you go about your day putting your plan into action, listen closely for the steps you should take. For in so doing even if you've not calculated unforeseen mishaps, the inner guidance will prepare you and/or divert a negative situation.

Sometimes we make plans and find that things don't always turn out quite as we thought. If we learn to allow, let go and let God, we will begin to move with the flow, move with the turning of the tide. Then we are directed into a better way.

When you let go and let God, meaning to make your plans but be willing to release the outcome, you will succeed in whatever you do.

The goal you desire, keep it in mind, but the outcome and the avenue, allow the universe to organize on your behalf - let go and let God.

Finding things are not working out as you anticipated? Try releasing the outcome knowing that all will work out on your behalf.

In what area of your life do you feel you need to let go of the outcome?

Getting my body back Friday - Release your fears to lose body fat

Today, I was planning on discussing interval training, but I felt that there's a deeper issue here that should be addressed in order to achieve the weight loss we desire.

I recall listening to a video a few months ago by Louise Hay. She talked about if a person is struggling with being overweight there's a direct relation between a person being overweight and fear.

Fat in our physical bodies serves as protection for the body. But excess fat is a symptom of something deeper happening. It's the symptom of emotional disturbances within us - troubled about the past or some current situation or fear of the future. So if you're trying to lose the weight and find that it's not coming off, you may need to check to see what's the underlying anxiety is, expressing protection in the form of excess fat.

I wasn't consciously aware that I felt fear or anxiety. But when I sat down began to examine my inner emotions, I realized that a family situation had me feeling some anxiety. So I decided to address this issue. I began to speak to the fat on my body, "Thank you for your protection. But I release you now and I release my fear and all anxiety about my situation knowing that all is well and I am protected by love. So you are free to leave now."

I began to visualize the fat melting off of me. That's when I started to see more results in my weight loss. And now I've added the interval training which took me up to the next level. We'll discuss interval training next Friday.

If you're doing all that you can do to lose the weight and it's still not coming off, you may want to consider examining your emotional well-being to see what may be causing any anxiety in your life.

I've found a really cool article which goes into some more detail about this. Follow the link.
How to Lose Body Fat with Ease.

Then come back here and let me know what you think. What anxieties are you facing? Do you know how to get to the root of the issue?

Tips to keep motivated while expecting the manifestation of your desire

The path on our journey, as we are working towards and expecting the manifestation of our desire, produces patience and endurance. But how do you keep motivated during the months and perhaps years of hoping and expectation? How do you keep the dream fire alive?

Tip #1 - Know that you will have your desire at the right time

When you know in your mind that you will have it and release the outcome it takes the frustration out of waiting. As long as you keep adding fuel to your desire daily by connecting with your emotions, you will have it.

Tip #2 - Encourage others

As you are encouraging others as they are also moving forward to achieving your goals, it stirs up the fire in you to keep holding on. And at the same time, you are becoming stronger internally and gaining more valuable insight in your own life. You begin to build stronger bonds as you can identify with their struggles as well.

Tip #3 - Keep a journal

Journaling your inspiration along the way opens you up to see life differently and on a deeper level. When you have reached your goal, you can share with others the path that you've taken to get there, the mistakes made and the invaluable lessons learned along the journey.

Tip #4 - Be accountable to someone

Apart from wanting to share my inspiration with others, I write on my blog, especially on my weight reduction journey, to keep me accountable to my readers. That way I must practice what I preach. Also I know others are on the same path and my determination and persistence could be the key to encouraging others to keep keepin' on and change their lives.

How do you keep motivated?

5 Steps to Turn your Adversity into Positivity

From time to time, we all face some kind of a challenge which may make us wonder if we'll ever come through it.

You can turn your adversity into positivity if you choose to look at your situation from a positive angle.

1) Decide and choose your desired outcome

What is it you'd like you situation to be? Stop and allow your mind to be free of worry and choose your desired results.

2) Fix your mind on your desired outcome

Take the limitation off your mind. Don't allow despair and depression to set in. This builds hope and puts you in positive emotional vibration to receive your desire.

3) Daily fuel that desire with your emotions

As you turn your thoughts around in your mind, "What could I do about my situation?" inspired ideas begin to come to you.

4) Take inspired action

Once you receive the inspired idea, act on it. Don't delay. Just act on it.

Quote from Napoleon Hill - "There's guidance for each of us and by lowly listening, we shall hear the right word."

Allow your mind to become quiet and listen for the inspired idea and act on it.

5) Be determined and persistent

When it seems like your desire is taking a long time to manifest, become determined in your mind and persistent in your inspired action until you see the results. A gardener continues to tend the garden day in and day out even though he may not yet see the harvest. He does what is required of him and at the right time the harvest comes.

What adverse situation do you face or have your faced in the past? How did you or how could you turn it into a positive outcome?

I have a dream - Martin Luther King Jr. - Dare to live your dream!

Martin Luther King Jr. dreamed of a day where African Americans would be free of racism. Where they could live in peace and not be afraid to walk the streets because of the colour of their skin. He stood for what he believed in and he did it with dignity. Though it cost him is life, many of us benefit this day because one man dared to dream and stood up for that dream.

What is your dream? What is your desire? Are you willing to take a stand for your belief no matter what? No matter how challenging the road may get or what obstacles or opposition come your way? It is your dream and if you don't live it, who will?

Your dream is not only for your benefit. Your dream will inspire many others to live their dream, to reach to a higher elevation in life, maybe to reach for the stars. You may be the key to someone being the next President or Prime Minister or the inventor of something that may save the next generation from disaster.

Whatever you feel in your heart that you are called to do, do it and do it with all the passion and energy you have in you. For you may be the doorway for someone to advance to the next level of their life. Dare to live your dream.

What's your dream?

Sunday Morning Quote of the Day - Hold on to something...to make you succeed!

To succeed, you need to find something to hold on to, something to motivate you, something to inspire you - Tony Dorsett

In achieving any goal, you must have something that keeps you moving forward, something that keeps you pressing through in spite of setbacks and discouragements.

What do you hold on to?

When it seems like your desire is not yet coming into manifestation, what do you hold on to? Sometimes having a song that has special meaning to you may be the answer. Or maybe a scripture or a quote may give you the renew strength you need for push passed discouragement.

What motivates you?

In every generation of people there has always been someone who motivates others into greatness. Whether it's your grandmother, grandfather, mother, father, speaker or public figure, someone is always placed in your life to motivate you to your greatness. The great singers, athletes, movie stars and political figures alike have all played a part in one way or another to motivate others to reach for the stars.

What inspires you?

Is it a baby learning to walk, the opening of a flower, the beauty of nature or the little everyday miracles of life? What inspires you to keep trying, keep holding on and keep living? Whatever or where ever you draw your inspiration from, continue to allow it to inspire and energize you to reach your goal.

So what do you hold on to? What motivates you? What inspires you? What gives you that extra pep in your step?

Saturday Tunespiration - How did Larry Platt, Pants on the Ground inspire you?

I'm sure you've probably heard the American Idol's audition performance of 62 year old Larry Platt, Pants on the Ground. Even though Larry most likely knew he was not eligible to enter the competition, he still took the risk to do his performance, Pants on the Ground. Larry had a plan and carried it out.

What could you learn from Larry?

1) He took a risk

Larry took a risk and auditioned which was the first step and gave us, Pants on the Ground. Even though others may have discouraged him, he was pumped and ready to go.

What is your dream? Are you willing to take the risk despite the odds to live your dream?

2) He started his own trend and perhaps his own movement

The song, Pants on the Ground, obviously came out of Larry's observation of the fashion statements out on the street. The song is quite catchy and perhaps voices the opinions of many others who may not publicly choose to make such a bold statement regarding the way in which pants are being worn in our modern time period.

What trend could you start that may or may not create a movement but will make you stand out from the crowd as having a message with a purpose?

3) He believed in himself

Confidence is not a lacking characteristic for Larry. He believed in himself and his mission and carried it out with passion and confidence. Even though Simon Cowell tried to stop him, he kept doing this thing.

Do you believe in what you're doing, in what you're about? Your strong belief in your mission on planet earth will take you to places you never thought possible at the moment.

4) He ignored what others might think of him

Larry could have looked at his age and convinced himself that he was too old. But as we could see, he was doing splits, something I think I'd wait until I'm a lot more flexible to try. It didn't matter what others thought him. It only mattered what he thought of himself, and then others came along and agreed with him.

Sometimes we become so wrapped up with what others may say or think of us that we become immobilized from acting on our passion. Take lessons from Larry and go for it.

5) He made a name for himself by being himself

Larry wasn't trying to be anybody else but who he is. We could all see that in his performance. And because of this, he's made a name for himself. He didn't need to be a contestant on American Idol to get publicity. Just his showing up and being himself was enough to get him media attention.

Here's the Youtube link to check out Larry's Pants on the Ground performance.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMwhl4IrPNc

Give your feedback. What do you think? How does Larry inspire you?

Getting my body back Friday - Take a deep breath or two!

How does deep breathing help you maximize your workout?

Are you deep breathing when you exercise? What are the benefits of deep breathing?

Deep breathing relaxes the body and removes the resistance to receiving oxygen to the body cells. Now, I'm not talking about the shallow chest breathing habit that we've gotten used to. What I'm talking about is breathing where the breath goes down deep into the abdomen and the abdomen and ribcage expand and contract.

When you're deep breathing, oxygen goes to the muscles allowing you to be able to do more reps especially when you're weight lifting.

When I'm jogging I find that I need more oxygen intake than when I'm walking. I find myself feeling out of breath faster even though I'm breathing in through my nose. So, to solve this problem, I take alternate breaths; two deep breaths in through the nose and let it out, then deep breaths through the mouth and let it out.

Make sure you're feeling this in your stomach as you breathe out. Since I started doing that, I found that I have more energy; I could jog faster and longer. That's amazing for me. I actually have to make myself stop cause I feel so energized.

Another thing, I try to keep a rhythm when I'm jogging - deep breathe in, deep breath out, deep breath in, deep breath out. You got the idea, plus it adds some fun to it and keeps you focused.

Today I challenged myself for one more round but felt at the time that I didn't have the energy to make it. Instead of giving in to my body, I went deep within, took some deep breaths and got the energy I needed to finish the last lap.

What about you? Do you deep breathe when you're exercising? How is it working for you?

Nurture the garden of your life - 5 Steps to Nurture the garden of your life

Your life is your garden and therefore you must nurture it to get the best harvest possible so you can enjoy the fruit of life.

So, exactly how do you nurture the garden of your life?

The next 5 steps will show you how.

1) Recognition

When you recognize that you have a need for a garden whether it is to save money or eat healthier your reason for doing so will keep you through the process of creating what you desire.

Similarly, when you recognize why you desire your life to change, whether it is to better your health, grow more spiritually connected or change your financial situation, that reason will keep you persistent until you realize your goal.

2) Decision

Like any garden, you must decide what type of garden you desire to have. Is it a fruit garden, vegetable garden, a flower garden or a combination of all three? Once you've made a decision, you can now decide on what types of seeds you will purchase.

When you make a decision to change your life, you must decide what type of lifestyle you'd like to have - being able to travel anywhere in the world, spend more time with family and friends, deepen your spiritual connection. Once that decision is made you can now make specific plans to facility growing that lifestyle.

3) Preparation and Planting the right seeds

You recognize your reason for desiring a garden. You've made a decision what type of garden you will grow. Now it's time to make a plan of the size and shape of your garden. Once that's completed you begin to plant the right seeds. If you desire cucumbers, you must plant cucumber seeds. If you desire watermelon, you must plant watermelon seeds and if you desire marigold, then... you got it, you must plant marigold seeds.

Therefore, if you decide to change your financial situation, your spiritual life or your family life, you must begin to plant seeds accordingly to grow your harvest. You must begin to look at your financial situation and make plans to increase your finances - whether you decide to seriously begin to save, start a business to increase your income or invest.

What seeds can you plant to enhance your spiritual life? Perhaps more time in meditation and quiet contemplation? What about your family life? More time with your spouse, your children?

Think about ways to transform your situation from where it is now.

4) Nurturing the garden of your life

Every garden requires daily weeding, regular watering and tilling of the soil when necessary. A careful gardener watches over his garden with a keen eye and so should you.

Everyday keep a watchful eye over the garden of your life. Keep your mind free from mental clutter so you can create the changes you need in your life. You will see your life begin to flourish in rich colours and beauty.

5) Harvest time

When you take care of all the previous 4 steps, the 5th step - harvest time, will occur naturally. You don't need to force the garden to bear fruit. It is designed to do this naturally. Your part is to do the other steps and the harvest will take care of itself.

When you regularly nurture your life garden, the harvest time will come as a natural occurrence. But you must begin now to implement the necessary steps in order to facilitate the fruit bearing stage.

I'd like to hear your feedback. What other steps do you think can be added to nurture the garden of your life?

Determination - 5 steps to developing a determined mindset so you can achieve your goals

You may have already heard that you must become determined to achieve your goals. But exactly how do you become determined? How do you develop a determined mindset to become successful in any area of your life?

The next 5 simple steps will show you how.

1) Know what you want

Knowing your innermost desire sets the pace for the fulfillment of that desire. Visualizing that desire in full imagery sets your sights on the final outcome. When you are consciously aware of what you truly desire and can vividly see it then you begin to emit the energy frequency into the ether to attract back to you the desired outcome.

2) Make a decision to manifest your desire

Once you've seen your desire, make a decision to have it. Decide there and then that you will have your desired outcome. It doesn't matter if at that moment you don't know how to achieve it. You may not be consciously aware that there is a way to get your desire. Just be confident in your mind that the way will come to you and it will.

3) Connect with your emotional feelings

Your emotions fuel your desire. And as you feel the feelings of what it would be like to be living in your desire, the energy wave goes out into the universe connecting with Divine Intelligence. Divine Intelligence organizes and brings back to you the desired outcome. That's the reason why clarity of your desire is so important. The clearer you are on your desire, the less static on your energy field as it goes out from your emotions. A distorted emotional energy wave will bring back distorted results.

4) Rehearse your desire

Daily rehearse your desire fuelling it with feelings. The making of a snowball starts with one snowflake. The more snow you add to the ball the bigger the ball gets until finally it's big enough to begin to make a snowman. The more emotions you fuel your desire the bigger and stronger the energy wave and the faster your desire comes to you. Daily rehearsal of your desire keeps adding strength to it.

5) Stay focused on your goal

When you are focused on your desire and are not constantly changing your mind, you'll continue to draw to you everything you need to manifest that desire. Setting aside time everyday to connect with your emotions and the feelings of having your desire and visualizing your desire will keep you focused until it becomes your outer reality.

These 5 foundational steps give you the internal view to developing the determined mindset to attract all you need to bring into your life your manifested desire.

Change your life - 5 steps to change your life!

Changing your life requires certain steps to bring about successful results. These 5 steps to change your life lays out a direction which you can follow.

1) Recognize your need

If you are to make any changes in your life, you must first recognize that you have a need for something. When you recognize dissatisfaction in your life, it’s time to make a change.

2) What is your desired outcome?

And you begin to address that situation by thinking about what it is you desire the outcome to be. For example out of your dissatisfaction with the quality of food at the grocery store or if you want to save money, you may decide to grow your own garden. That desire for the garden springs out of your emotional concern about your health which propels you to do something about your current situation.

3) Be specific – have a definite goal

When you make a decision to grow this garden then you decide what type of garden you want – vegetable, fruit or flower garden or a combination of all three. This is the step of having a definite goal. For you must determine what it is you desire to create in order for you to create it.

This lays the foundation then for a completely different mindset than the one you had before. The previous results you were getting came as a result of the mindset and conditioning during that period of your life. Therefore you acted in accordance with the way you were thinking.

So now it’s time to go through the transitory period to create the new mindset and habitual conditioning which may produce a period of discomfort as you go through the process. Remember, this is something new to the mind and body and at first it may be uncomfortable. But as long as you stay focused on your results and on the final goal, the new mindset habit will begin to set in which will produce different behaviour and positive results.

This is where you begin to make plans and find ways to effectively create this change.

4) Garden of your life

Your life is like a garden. You must nurture it. You must tend to your garden daily. I like the garden illustration because it gives a tangible guideline for determining what you desire and how to go about getting your desire, especially if your desire is one that is intangible, like spiritual growth and development.

As we learn these principles, it’s imperative to teach them to our children so they can have an early start in creating a great future for themselves and their children.

Education is more than rehearsing what’s been taught to us in text books. It is also about knowing how to use our mental faculties to create and shape our world. It is not being told what to think but how to think and use our thinking abilities to change our lives.

Our thoughts when fuelled with emotions become our reality. Therefore the garden thought must be nurtured and cared for on a regular basis, weeding and pruning all that is unwanted. It is a never ending process to living.

5) Persistence and determination

Persistence and determination is the driving force to achieving any goal. These take you through the tough times when you feel like giving in. A woman in labour knows that when the pain is at its highest intensity that’s when she’s about to give birth – that’s our breaking through point.

Determination is the mindset that says that regardless of the external conditions I will have what I desire. It will come to me no matter what, and you wait, if you have to, for it to unfold.

Persistence is birth out of a determined mindset. It is the consistent continuous action whether physically or mentally towards achieving your goal.

Anything is possible when you have the mindset that it doesn’t matter what it is, you can and will have what you desire.

Changing your perception of things causes you to see opportunities where others only see adversity.

Get connected to your Source

Scripture of the day

"Let your roots grow down into Him and draw up nourishment from Him, so you will grow in faith, strong and vigorous in the truth you were taught. Let your lives overflow with thanksgiving for all He has done. Colossians 2:7"

When you take the time daily to connect with the Source of your strength and allow the Life-source of God to nourish your inner being, filling you with love, peace and joy, your life begins to change.

Long-lasting change begins from within. A transformed life starts from within. A life filled with love, joy and peace comes from within. Peace, no matter what situation you're in and what you face, comes from within.

Many times we are frantically running around looking for all the answers outside of us. But the problem with that is you never learn to rely on your inner guidance because you're afraid to make the wrong choice. You're afraid you're going to make a mistake. So instead of looking within for the answer you consult with every book, every seminar, and perhaps with every article, other than your Source.

Nothing is wrong with all of these in themselves. But when they replace your natural inner connection, when you are not hearing what the Source of your life is saying or you can't connect with it, then it's time to stop and take a good look at where you're searching. Time to take the time to be quiet and listen within. Get connected with your Source. Feel the life flow into your inner being, allow it to flow, ask for it to flow.

Then, you'll begin to develop that inner relationship, become filled with strength, power and overflowing abundance. Your confidence and faith will grow. And when your Source chooses a method outside of you to bring the answer, you will be assured in knowing that your answer has come to you easily and effortlessly without you searching frantically for it.

Your peace will flow naturally as it should be. You will feel loved and feel connected to love and as a result love will naturally flow out of you as it should be. Abundance will flow out of you as it should be because you are reconnected to the Source and your roots have grown down in Him.

Release Your Inhibitions! Saturday Tunespiration

It's Saturday, why not turn on the tunes and have a Tunespiration of a day!

Ever made a decision to achieve a goal only to find yourself being overwhelmed with feelings of inadequacies and self-doubt? It's time to release your inhibitions and keep on keepin' on despite your fears. You can do it! Just keep moving forward.

When I was writing my ebook Changing Inside Out Now! Creating Unconditional Miracles, I found myself becoming a bit overwhelmed with these emotions. I began thinking about all the great writers out there who have written such excellent pieces of work. Then, the thought came to me, "Stop comparing yourself to others and do the best you can." The moment I heard that I began to shift my thinking.

Then, something really interesting happened; my 7 years old daughter began to sing this song by Natasha Bedinfield - Unwritten. The words were so profound, given the fact that I was writing a book at that moment. My daughter had no idea what was happening to me when she began to sing. I looked over at her amazed at her timing. I decided to stop what I was doing and searched for the song on YouTube. Here is the link to this song that inspired me so much during the writing of my book.

Getting my body back Friday

If you've been following along in the spring and summer months, you'd remember that after having my 7th baby I was working on getting my body back. I haven't done any updates on that for a while, so I've decided to give some update on my progress.

Also, I've decided to dedicate Fridays as Getting My Body Back Friday for anybody's who working on getting into shape as well. I'll be sharing some inspiration on the topic, in addition to videos and articles on nutrition and exercise or anything else I come up with to help us keep on our journey.

Feel free to post any suggestions or links of interest you have.

So, today I'm unveiling my progress starting from April 2009. This is a few weeks after I started my journey.

This is when I began gardening and incorporated this activity into my workout routine.

Drum roll please!!! This is me 8 months later in the same pants. I'm about to head outside for my walk and jogging. I still have some work to do - working on the abs, but I'm so happy and appreciative for the progress I've made so far. I feel great and energized and still open to learning and improving.

This was taken today. I just finished my walking and jogging. Yep, that's snow in the background. I've made a walking/jogging path. I've committed to change from hibernating in the winter to staying active and participating in winter fun as well.

I look forward to snow days now because I go out to shovel and get a good workout - adding some variety to my routine.

I've made some radical changes in my life and I'm loving it. I hope my progress has inspired you to join in the Getting My Body Back Friday and let's support each other. Or at least I've inspired you to continue working on getting into shape until you reach your goal.

And here is the baby princess, Roxella. She's almost 1 year old. This was her 1st Christmas.

Surviving Tough Times - 5 Keys to Surviving Tough Times

From time to time we come face to face with tough times that seem to challenge the very foundation of our faith.

Do you feel like you’re being tossed back and forth by strong wind of adversity and wonder if you’ll ever get out of this or if you’ll make it out in one piece?

Nature shows us that after every storm, rain, hurricane, hail or snow, the sun comes out again. For every storm you have faced, are going through, will go through, the sun will shine again. But sometimes it’s difficult to see that because we’re caught up in the moment of the ‘physical’ now and the fear of the captivating current circumstance.

When in a storm, it’s not business as usual, take evasive action. Change your style/method to allow creativity to flow, develop new ways of treading water and rise up above your situation.

Armed with the knowledge that ‘this too will pass’, what should you do to weather the storm and not be consumed by it, lose all hope and perish?

In order to survive the storm and avoid fatal damage, here are 5 keys you must follow:

1) Maintain your composure – Don’t panic!

Remain calm so you can think clearly. Panic will always remove you from a position of clear thinking and peace and cause you to act, speak rashly and hastily. Fear shuts the door to the free flow of creativity and inspiration. Take a deep breath, breathing in peace of mind and exhale, releasing all the tension.

2) Take your eyes off your problems

Regroup or refocus your attention from the storm. Whatever may be the problem, if you dwell on the negative of the situation, you only make the size of it seem larger than it really is. See your situation, but once you’ve noticed it, look beyond it in your mind’s eyes to the desired outcome.

Know that you will receive the answer – you’ll find the way out. Make this your repeated affirmation and expect it. The answer is already available regardless of what the situation may look like.

3) You’re not alone in the storm

Going through a tough time can sometimes be a lonely experience. Finding positive friends, positive reading material or recordings can be encouraging through this time, lift our spirits and energize us to keep moving forward when we’ve lost our momentum.

Matthew 14:24-33 shows that Jesus was right there with his disciples when they were in the storm. Prayer keeps our spirits connected with God and gives us hope for the future. It takes our focus off of our situation of hopelessness and aligns us with the positive energy of the flow of the Spirit.

4) Be open to wisdom

Wisdom sometimes comes in unlikely places, persons and avenues. Pay attention. If you are open to the message of inner wisdom, no matter how subtle, you will always receive the answer. The key is recognizing the answer when it comes. It may come in the form of a billboard sign, a message in a movie, a familiar song that suddenly comes to you or an inspired idea. Wisdom gives you direction to take the most productive and necessary steps at every stage of the storm. Ask for wisdom.

5) Remain focused

Focus on what you desire the outcome to be and not on what the storm is doing. When you focus on the storm, the storm seems to look bigger than it is. Staying focused on the outcome keeps you from becoming discouraged and keeps the door of doubt and disbelief closed. It also keeps your emotions in a place of joy.

As you engage your emotions in the feeling of your desired results, you are aligning yourself with the answer and saying, “Yes, God, I believe that you will come through for me and already have come through."

Know that every problem you ever faced or ever will face has an answer already provided. There is nothing in your life that is ever beyond the resolution of Divine Intelligence. You can and will come through as long as you continue to align your thoughts and emotions with positive energy of hope and expectation.
