Overcoming Anxiety - 5 Steps to Overcome Anxiety

Anxiety comes as a result of unresolved issues, something you want or long to be resolved but has not come to a complete resolution. You may experience anxiety on different planes, whether anxiety over unresolved issues in a relationship, financial issues - unpaid debt, shortage of money, anxiety over a job situation, career, business etc.

How do you deal with anxiety? 

You can experience peace in the midst of unresolved issues. As a matter of fact, when you allow peace to enter your mind, you find that the negative anxiety energy no longer cloud your perception of your situation and no longer hinders the outcome of your break through.

1) Consciously identify the problem

Anxiety at times becomes an underlying emotion masked by anger, irritation or depression. So you may be feeling these emotions and snap at the people around you. It may seem as if you're snapping at them because of what they were doing at the moment but the real underlying feeling is anxiety and anxiety over what? 

When you consciously identify what you're anxious over, identifying the culprit, you can now zoom in and deal with it directly. If you don't deal with the emotion, it will sit in the background as an underlying emotion influencing all of the negative emotions you're feeling. 

2) Release the anxiety

Consciously release the anxiety from your body. Feel the anxiety where it's located in your body and mind and consciously release it. Visualize it leaving your body and being replaced by peace and relaxation. 

3) Let go and let God

At this point you're probably thinking about your situation so much, feeling feelings of desperation and overwhelm and you've become caught up in the vortex of this negative emotional turmoil that you're unable to see clearly to the solution. This negative energy wall has put you out of alignment that you're unable to get inspired ideas and wisdom that's already available to you. Your mole hill has now seemed to grow into a mountain. 

It's time to let go and let God. Release it all and the outcome into the hands of the Great Universal Spirit and wait and expect your answer to come. When we hold on so tightly to the situation and outcome, we block our own progress and hinder the universal energy from working on our behalf, confusion sets in and we get more of the same 'no results' as before.

4) Walk in the calmness of the Spirit

The calmness of the Spirit comes from the assurance that all is well and that all is already working out on your behalf. You activate your faith and believe that all that you need has already been supplied and will unfold. When you feel anxiety trying to creep back in, shift your emotions back to that place of peace and assurance. You are using your faith muscles each time you do this.

5) Speak life to your situation

As an act of your faith, speak to your situation, speak life, speak your outcome, encourage yourself, use your affirmations. "I know that all is working out for my good in the best possible way. All I need to fix this situation is coming to me now. I have the wisdom I need to resolve this issue. I have the help I need to change this situation. I am at peace and all is well. I rest in the place of assurance. I am greater than this situation. This too will pass. This is only temporary. The sun will shine again."

Saturday Tunespiration - Don't Let Go, Troubles Don't Last Always

Keep dreaming and believing. Don't let go of your dream. Don't let go of the words the Spirit has spoken to you in your heart. Keep holding on to that word, that inspiration, that insight. 

I recall the times when I've been expecting my situations to turn around and even though I could not physically see things working out or my situation getting better, I would go into my quiet time and the Spirit would remind of the words I had received and I'd be encouraged to keep holding on. 

One of them from the scripture was, "Go in peace woman, your faith has made you whole." Every time, those words would uplift me and helped me to keep the faith. Whenever I go through any situation I pull up on those gems and also keep my ears open for fresh insights.

Whatever you're going through, keep expecting an answer. It will come. Hold on. Troubles don't last forever. Joy will surely come 'in the morning.'

Action Thursday - A Peak Into My Personal Quiet Time and Become Empowered from Within

The following is an excerpt from my personal morning quiet time. My desire is to manifest some personal goals and I wanted to give you a peak into my personal quiet time and the inspiration I received from the Spirit a few mornings ago. 

"If I look at what other people are doing and compare their success with what I want to do, then I limit myself based on the measurement of their progress. But if I looked to the unlimited potential and possibilities of the Spirit and measure what I desire to accomplish through this vast supply, then what I want to do becomes as a drop in the bucket in the vastness of potential and possibilities of the universe.

Therefore, I cannot rely only on what has already been created to decide if I can have my desire. I must look to the wisdom of the Spirit to show me how to create what I want to manifest in form. 

I must see it in me.
I must embrace it in me.
I must own it.
I must become one with it.
I must allow the Spirit to unfold the formation of it in my life.
I must stay closely connected with the Spirit and follow Spirit guidance, playing the 'keys' and 'singing the melody' of the Spirit. 

In order to do this, the outer voices must be silenced and great attention and focus must be placed on the Spirit's voice that I may hear the 'melody', 'sing along' and 'dance the dance of the Spirit'.

Whatever the Spirit says to do, I will do. The Spirit knows the way and has a grand plan. And as I follow along, the plan will unfold one step at a time. The Spirit's way is not hard. It is with ease and effortless as I release all of my fears and inhibitions. I gain strength, courage and confidence to follow along and do what needs to be done. All I need to complete the task is supplied to me.

I will begin where I am and with what tools I already have and as the Spirit supplies more, I will use what has been provided for me.

My #1 goal is to listen diligently to the Spirit and follow along.

The voices of the outer world seem to give you hope at first but then leave you feeling more confused, unsatisfied, overwhelmed and wanting more. You become more entangled unless the instructions came from the Spirit. The Spirit is compete - shows you which way to go, what to do, how to do it. And when you are done, you feel accomplished, satisfied and free."

A novel of Spiritual Healing & Unlikely love in the Montana Wilderness

I found a novel and had to share it with you.

Cyclops was too quick for that big engine of power. The moose was caught off guard as the one-eyed wolf leapt high and far from behind. That wolf jumped on the moose’s back.” “ …At first the moose just stood still, breathing hard and tossing his antlers back and forth. 

Finally realizing there was a wolf sitting on his back the moose started to jump and run. I saw that crazy one-eyed wolf straddling that wild moose and clinging with all four paws and biting a clump of thick hair on the moose’s neck. Cyclops didn’t try to attack the moose. He was just trying to stay on for the ride. That moose jumped and ran all over that clearing trying to dislodge Cyclops. That was the strangest thing you ever saw, a crazy one-eyed wolf riding on a bucking moose.”

Change your Life - The Power of a Small 3 Letter Word to Change Your Life

When we survey a difficult situation most of us say that a solution can’t be found or it can’t be done. We’ve come to underestimate the power of the small 3 letter word – HOW. When we say, “Can’t,” we shut the door to what’s possible and therefore we never experience the impossible. 

However, when we say or ask, “How,” then possibilities open up to us. We pave the way for inspired ideas to come to us and miracles to manifest in our lives through the power of the Spirit.

The great oak tree was once a small seed. Don’t underestimate the size of small things because they have locked within them the potential to grow into large things, change your situation and change your life.

Let’s look at how we can use this small but powerful word to our advantage.

H – Have Faith

If you believe that whatever you’re asking for can be done or can manifest in your life, then you can have what you believe. Faith is acceptance of that belief that, even though your desire may seem impossible, you can have it if you activate your faith. Nothing can stand in your way. All that you need to help you experience what you desire will come to your aid. Stand fast in your strong faith.

O – Own It

Own your desire. See yourself experiencing what you want. Use your imagination to visualize yourself surrounded by and enjoying what you want to manifest. Feel it as your own. Let the cells of your body feel the energy of your desire as it grows inside you and as you become one with it until there’s no separation between you and your desire.

W – Wait and Expect

Wait for the answer and expect to receive it. Wait for the manifestation and expect to experience it. Once you get an answer act on what you have already. Remember the oak tree; you cannot wait to see stems and leaves before you sow the seed in the ground. 

Start with what you already know you can do – sow the seed into the soil. Do the action that you can do and the Universal Energy will come to your aid and cause your seed to continue on to the germination stage and continue to grow each day until it matures and produces fruit.

Whenever you feel tempted to say, “I can’t,” stop yourself right there and change that, ‘I can’t’, to ‘I can’ and then ask, “How.”

Getting My Body Back Friday - Coming Out of your Comfort Zone to Better Health and Ideal Weight

As with anything in life, if you are to create change in your health and reach your ideal weight, you need to come out of your comfort zone. There are 3 levels of adjustment that are required to help you make the change your need to reach your goals. Let's look at them now.

Level #1 - Spiritual Comfort Zone

When we connect to our spiritual source and make our identification with Spirit we begin to draw life-sustaining energy that rejuvenates and enliven our cells in our bodies. We also begin to think of ourselves differently, as powerful spirit beings that's unlimited and not limited by our physical bodies. This renewed way of identification releases us from the societal pressure of thinking that we have to look a certain way to be accepted or to be worth anything. 

Level #2 - Physical Comfort Zone

Making the change from a passive lifestyle to a more active one requires making the decision to come out of one's comfort zone. What are you doing physically that's contributing to your poor health and increased weight? As you look at what you're doing on a regular basis, look at what you can do differently. 

Sometimes it's not in the major changes that creates the results, but the small consistent activities that can make a huge difference. So instead of going all out only to find yourself feeling overwhelmed and resenting the new change. Take it one step at a time. 

10 minutes walking each day will do you a whole lot of good than 1 hour once a month. Making small adjustments to your meals, one meal at a time each day, can help you achieve more permanent results than trying to change it all at once and then feeling intense cravings which leaves you feeling frustrated. 

Level #3 - Mental Comfort Zone

Your mind can help you move forward or remain stuck where you are. It influences you both on the spiritual and physical planes. Make the necessary adjustments in your thinking to shift you from where you are to where you want to be. 

What can you do right now to change your thinking patterns to enhance your health and weight goals? How do you see yourself? What can you do to change the way you think about and see yourself? Do you see yourself as whole? Remember, when you get your mind in the right gear everything else follows along. Removing the mental blockers that keep you hostage to ill-health and increased weight will steer you in the right direction.

Action Thursday - 3 Steps to Coming out of your Mental Comfort Zone to Manifest your Desires

When dealing with comfort zones, of the three levels - physical, spiritual and mental, I believe that the mental comfort zone is the most important because it greatly influences the other two. The mental comfort zone can inhibit or allow progress on both the spiritual and physical levels. 

We stay in our physical comfort zones because of the way we're thinking. We also remain in our spiritual comfort zones because of the way we're thinking. When we deal with how we're thinking, our perspective on things and life, all other areas fall into place. 

It is because of the way you view your current situation, either from fear or from progress that you physically stay or leave. You're thinking that if I leave what would be the outcome? Uncertainty in your thoughts hinders you from taking the first step forward. 

Same thing with your spiritual comfort zone. What if I opened my mind to look at another perspective? Perhaps what if what I've been taught could be flawed or there may be other ways to look at what I've come to accept as truth? Then your life could head in a positive direction. 

Or you can decide to be so rigid in your belief because of the fear that what if what you believed all your life becomes questionable, then what? 

Here are 3 steps you can use to change your life and manifest your desires by coming out of your mental comfort zone:

1) Be open

When you are open to set aside your current way of thinking so you can embrace the new or embrace that which is truth, then you are setting the stage to coming out of your mental comfort zone. 

2) Ask questions

You may ask, "Is there another way I could look at my situation?" For example, you may have been trained to believe that you have to work a full-time job in order to make ends meet or work both a full-time job and a part-time job in order to get the income you need. But if you were to ask the question, "Is there another way to look at meeting my needs? Then you are making the mental adjustment, coming out of your comfort zone to embrace change. 

By the way, I've been there years ago, going from working a full-time and a part-time job while being pregnant and studying at the same time to working a part-time job making more money than both jobs put together. That's what happens when you are open and ask for another viewpoint. You get answers you may never have taught possible. 

3) Mental willingness

You know, you could get an answer to your problem, but if you are mentally unwilling to accept the answer and take the necessary action steps to implement it you'll be stuck where you are. Sometimes, it's not that we don't get the answer; it's that we are unwilling in our minds to do what we're inspired mainly to because of fear.

Look at your mental comfort zone now and examine what you need to let go of, what you need to change, what adjustments you need to make that will help you to move forward so you can begin to manifest your desires.

Change your Life - Coming out of your Spiritual Comfort Zone to Manifest your Desires

We may hold on to spiritual beliefs that hinder us from growing spiritually and from manifesting our desires and as a result our foundation may become shaken in times of adversity. This happens when what we believe creates a false sense of security around us. Then we go through traumatic experiences which either cause us to go deeper spiritually or turn our backs entirely on God.

This is part of the shaking process, the coming out of the spiritual comfort zone and false belief. You may find yourself feeling disillusioned, feeling lost. But at these times, when we listen to the Spirit, we come into the truth as we release the anger and resentment toward the current situation as well as toward God.

Many of our beliefs may have come from other people's point of view and has nothing to do with truth or our personal experience. This is the time that we're called to a personal experience with the Spirit, to come into a more intimate experience, to deepen our own spiritual walk and gain more understanding of what the Spirit has to offer us. 

Until you've come into your own personal spiritual relationship with God, you'll find yourself constantly relying on others to tell you what the truth is. And when you encounter adverse situations, how will you stand and remain on solid ground? How will you maintain your inner peace?

We weren't designed to remain stagnant in our spiritual growth. Our entire lives are dependent on how we grow spiritually, on how we deepen our connection with the Great Universal Spirit and become more and more consciously aware of our connectedness to the Spirit and all that there is. 

Out of our spiritual growth comes the manifestation of our desires. As we grow, our quiet time deepens; our sense of belonging deepens to that which is greater than ourselves. We become more in tuned with the subtle vibrations of the Spirit and the inner promptings. 

If you've been questioning your own spiritual beliefs and feel the inner call to go deeper, be confident in asking the Spirit for answers to those things you don't understand. Make it a conscious effort to spend that time listening within to what the Spirit is saying to you and gain understanding through the subtle lessons of life.

Change your Life - Coming out of your Physical Comfort Zone to Manifest your Desires

Your comfort zone may be on different levels or a combination of levels. These levels may be on the physical, spiritual or mental plane or a combination of all three. Today, we'll look at coming out of the physical comfort zone to manifest your desires.

On a physical level you may be in a place that's stifling your growth or what you're expecting to manifest cannot happen where you are because of the influence that's around you. In this case, the Spirit may be prompting you to get out, to move to another city, another country, another town, another house.

Whatever the situation may be, you need to follow the instructions that you're given so you can move into position to receive your blessing to manifest your desires. 

Being a native of Trinidad and Tobago, I migrated to Canada many years ago to where I met the love of my life, who is also from another Caribbean island and now we have a beautiful family. Had I remained in my country, I would not have met my spiritual mate and life partner. Life would have been very different for me.

The Spirit has a greater plan for our lives, even more than we have anticipated. So if we let go and allow and follow the inner guidance we'll experience many of the blessings God has in store for us. 

And yet again while in Canada, another move which brought us from one province to another to fulfill another part of our destiny occurred a few years ago. 

Staying in your physical comfort zone when all signs say that you should leave will lead you into more discomfort and unhappiness and a life that's unfulfilled. 

Don't allow fear to keep you bound to a physical place because you're not sure how things will turn out. Trust the guidance of the Spirit and go forward.

What situation are you facing today that you need to physically remove yourself from? It may be a job, it may be a relationship, it may be your community and sometimes it may be family. The thing about leaving family is that even though they may be supportive of you, sometimes you are called to walk in a different direction.

They may or may not understand what you're being asked to do. That's where you need to draw strength from the Spirit to overcome the familiar ties and do what you know you're being asked to do. It is a tough one but one that will lead you to your destiny. 

Our families were chosen at birth but that does not mean that our paths are exactly the same. You must know deep inside yourself what you're being called to do by the Spirit that will benefit all involved even though at the time they may not see the good in it.

Change your Life - Coming out of the Comfort Zone to Manifest your Desires

So you decided that you're going to change certain areas of your life, that's a good thing. However, to create the change in your life requires leaving your 'comfort zone'. Did I just hear you say, "Oh, man leave my comfort zone?" Yes. And this can be a scary process for some. But it doesn't have to be if you are willing, open and really want to create a difference in your life knowing that all will turn out for the best. 

You see, the life that you're currently living and that you've become dissatisfied with can no longer continue to exist if you really want to change. It's like if you decided to start a garden in your backyard. In order for that change to come about there's going to be some uprooting of the grass, digging some holes - some general remodeling in order to get that garden going. 

At first it may seem chaotic, but if you keep your goal in mind, your reason for the current chaos, it will keep you focused and not disturbed by your current 'displacement'. Friends may come over and wonder what the heck you're doing and then you simply say, "I'm starting a garden." That's your goal. The seeming chaos is part of the change process.

And so it is when you're trying to change your life to manifest your desires, you may go through the 'chaotic' experience of change but at the end, after all the work is complete, your life, like the garden, will yield a beautiful satisfying harvest.

Many people choose to stay in the 'comfort zone' which really isn't a comfort zone at all. It's more like a familiar zone. You're familiar with the pain of your discomfort and you're afraid of the unknown. Afraid of what you're not in control of or what you can't predict the outcome would be. 

You can current predict how your current situation will turn out because of the familiarity. You dislike it, you're not enjoying life - more like enduring it - but you choose to stay. Sometimes, we choose to stay because change requires effort on our part, effort that we're not willing to put out for something different. 

But the thing about the comfort zone is that sooner or later you'll become so discontented that you're forced to make a decision to get out or forced out of the familiar zone that you're in. You can either accept this as the universe is setting up something better for you and go willing with an open mind or you can rebel or protest at how unfair life has been. A willing and an open mind is always the best choice to make. You'll find yourself more at peace instead of trying to fight an uphill battle. 

A few years ago we found ourselves in a situation that could have been quite chaotic had we not turned within to the Spirit and looked for the good that could come out of it. This situation led us to moving our family from our comfort zone into unfamiliar territory but one that has been enriching for us and one that we'd never trade in otherwise.

Getting My Body Back Friday - Starting the Year off with Zest to Achieve your Health and Weight Goals


Now that the festive season is coming to a close you don't have to end the celebration but you can celebrate your life and the fact that you are here to continue to manifest your divinity on earth. Today brings with it a fresh start and the chance for you to continue to embrace your body as the earthen vessel which carries the precious light and life within its core. 

Let this year be the year that you consciously set aside the time each day to spend connecting to the energy of the Spirit within. Feel the healing vibration as it moves through your body and enliven every cell. Feel the feelings of the healing virtue and envision your body being energized and renewed. 

Nurture your body with your love, peace and joy. Release all tension and dislike for the way your physical body looks at this time and love yourself. It is the only body that you have. Destroying it with self-hatred because it does not measure up to the so-called status quo would only create more havoc. 

Be grateful for where you are now and thank your body for bringing you through another year and now look forward to what this new year has to offer - filled with new life and energy. 

Feed your body with foods that are filled with life that it may be nourished from nature. Listen to what your body is saying to you and become in tuned with it. Your body cells are filled with intelligence and as you learn to become more in tuned with what your body is saying you will know what your body needs, what it is asking for. 

Allow the light of the Spirit to shine through you from within, as much as possible. The more you release all the negative emotions that are keeping you bound from enjoying a healthy lifestyle, the more life from the Spirit will flow through your body like the refreshing flow of a debris-free river.

Action Thursday - Overcome Procrastination to Break Through Barriers of Indecision



At the beginning of a New Year many people make New Year resolutions in an attempt to achieve some personal change only to find that into a few weeks or months they fall off and even worse, they never ever get started on what they said they would do to change their lives. Procrastination is one of the main reasons why dreams remain dreams and never become a reality. 

How do you overcome procrastination so you can break through barriers of indecision?

Decision

Procrastination comes about when we don't make a firm focused determined decision to do what we say we will do. The remedy for procrastination is really deciding that you will have your desire and then following up that decision with persistent action until your desire is manifested.

Reaffirm your decision

Spiritual Growth - 4 Foundational Steps to Deepen your Spiritual Growth in 2011


If you desire to deepen your spiritual growth this year, there are a few foundational steps that you can follow to consciously deepen your connection to your spiritual Source. The deeper you go within, the less the outer world and its conditions affect your inner peace. 

There's a place within you where stress, frustration, lack, inferiority complex, illness or whatever ailment you suffer because of the outward connection cannot invade. This place of quietness, where the heart of God dwells within you, awaits your arrival for you to experience life on a higher plane, for you to experience the power and presence of Unconditional Love

Let's look at the 4 foundational steps you can use to deepen this spiritual growth

Set aside quiet time

God dwells in the silence. In the stillness you become calmer and relaxed as you turn your attention within to the presence of the Spirit and the energy of life that dwells within. Put aside a few times a day to get quiet and become consciously connected with the Source of your power within. As a child I learned this song:

Whisper a prayer in the morning
Whisper a prayer at noon
Whisper a prayer in the evening
To keep your heart in tune

Whether your prayer is to ask a favour of the Spirit or to consciously make that connection within, your heart will remain in tuned with the Spirit and keep you tender within.

Turn all your attention within

Listen as if you're waiting for an answer from someone except you're looking inside of you and listening for the answer. Who could tell what you may hear. Pay attention. Turn your eyes inwardly. Be consciously present to what's happening inside of you. Look within as if you're expecting someone or something to emerge. You're giving the Spirit the invitation to connect with you in ways you may never have imagined.

Get your feelings involved

Feel the presence of the Spirit. Feel joy, feel peace, feel the presence and power of Unconditional Love. Allow your mind to relax and feel the energy waves of the Spirit as it moves through your body and within your inner being. Allow the Spirit to elevate you to a higher level of inner connection each time. Know that you are one with God and God with you. Feel that oneness. 

What to do if your mind wanders off?

At first you may find your mind wandering off to other things, bring your attention back to the center of your being. Keep practicing each time and you'll find that you'll become more focused and your attention more present that not. 

Once you put these steps into practice, you'll find that you'll want to go deeper and as you go deeper your life becomes more fulfilled. When the outward situations try to bring your down, you have a place of quiet rest where you can turn to and experience peace in spite of what's going on around you. You build inner strength and tranquility each day.

The celebrations are winding down and here you stand at the top of the year wondering what this year holds for you, how you can change your life and live the life you desire to live. 

Here are 7 foundational steps you need to begin

What is it you want to change in your life? 

Answering this question lays the foundation upon which you can begin to build the life you desire, gain clarity and have a direction in which you're heading. Here's where you focus on the most important part of your life that you want to see this transformation take place. 

Where are you now and where do you want to be?

Mapping your life this way plays an essential part in giving you a visual to where you want to go. As you become clear as to where you are now, you can assess what areas of your life you want to change and then define what that change would be - that would be the 'where you want to be.'

What can you do right now?

What do you know you can do right now to change this area of your life? Begin with what you already have or with what you already know you can do. Remember that every oak tree was once a small seed. When you use the seemingly small things that you have they will begin to expand and grow and in time produce the fruit you desire to manifest. 

Put a plan together

Organize what you already know you can do or what you already know into an action plan. Even if you don't have all the pieces you think you should have to carry out your plan, start with what you already have. More ideas, information and tools will come up to help you manifest what you set out to do.

Put your plan into action

As you put your plan into action you may find that you encounter obstacles and setbacks. Be determined to press through and move forward. Now this does not mean that you should give up on your desire altogether. Perhaps you may need to alter the steps or change direction but not necessarily to give up entirely on your final outcome.

Let go of the outcome 

This may be the hardest part but truly liberating. Do the best you can in peace and joy and release the outcome over to the universe, over to God. Many times we become frustrated because we don't get the results we desire. But it is in this energy of frustration that we hinder our own progress. If at all possible, remove yourself from the frustrating situation, release the negative energy, do something that's puts you back into a positive energy flow until you're able to go into that previous task with this peaceful energy.

Having someone help you through this time could prove to be quite beneficial for you, someone who could hold your hand and help you gain clarity and bring you through the tough times.
