Changing Inside Out Now! Getting my body back - Day 11

Motivation through inspiration

Keeping the motivation momentum going is the key to goal achievement.

Motivation causes you to engage in activities that move you forward and closer to your target. It causes you to throw off sluggishness and complacency and gets you fired up to take the necessary action to gain positive results.

Motivation gives you the energy boost you need to make it over the top of the hill when you’re at the brink of giving up. It gives you the incentive to try just one more time even though you’ve done it 100 times before and failed.

It causes your creative juices to flow and inspires you to come up with innovative ideas and concepts.

Sources of motivation

Motivation comes via many different avenues.

Self-motivation – see yourself at the finish line and think of how it would make you feel once you got there.

Friends – encouragement and compliments from friends on your progress.

Family – they can give constructive criticism about the way you’re handling things that you’re not aware of.

Inspiration – reading or listening to other people’s success story can encourage you to achieve your testimony. It may not necessarily be related to what you’re working on.

Motivational recordings/seminars – listening to motivation from others who have gone through the same or similar journey as you have.

Group support – being part of a group that’s aiming for similar goals as yourself produces an energy that gets you moving knowing that you’re not alone and encourages the ‘I can do this’ type of feeling.

One or a combination of any of these avenues of motivation gives the energy boost needed to keep you on track and not lose sight of your goal.

Fuelling words: I remain motivated by the testimonials of those who've achieved their goals.

Routine: Warm-ups, stretches, aerobics, toning and strength exercises, cool down.

Visualization - keeping focus on my goal; healthy, strong and my ideal body weight and shape.

Deep breathing - relaxes the muscles and sends oxygen to the muscles where exercising alone would not reach.
