Keys to Successful Living and Stress Management – Part 1

Fret not thyself – 7 Steps to Overcome Worry

Worry brings stress and blocks inspiration, not to mention how it negatively affects your health.

Life is filled with many joys but can also come with many challenges. How you choose to respond to these challenges determines your quality of life. So here are 7 steps you can use to overcome worry from your life.

Step 1 – Release the stress that comes from your struggle

You know that tension you feel when you’re worried about how things are going to turn out; like how you’re going to pay your bills, pass that exam, the outcome of the medical test. Consciously release that tension from your mind, visualize it going downstream away from you.

Step 2 – Relax your mind

Inhale and then exhale all of that tension. Relax your mind. Let it go. As you inhale, visualize renewed life-energy filling your mind and body. What you are doing here is removing any blockages that will stop the flow of creativity so you can find a positive solution to your situation or at least see things from a positive perspective.

Step 3 – Turn inward to your power strength

If you’re looking outward to find a solution you may end up being disappointed. Your strength comes from within. Turn your attention inward to the place of inner peace. Feel that peace in your mind. In that place of peace inspiration flows easily and effortlessly. You are unencumbered by the entanglements of care.

Step 4 – Draw strength from within

Consciously draw renewed strength from the Universal Spirit. Feel yourself being filled with strength to take the next step, to face another day, to soar over your challenging situation.

Step 5 – Decide what you want the outcome to be

Setting your intention for what you want the outcome to be creates the energy signal that causes the universal power to work on your behalf to bring you the best possible outcome. It also turns your attention onto the positive outcome as opposed to the fear of getting what you don’t want.

Step 6 – Expect the best

Always expect the best outcome. Trust that all is working out on your behalf in the best possible way. Know that the Universal Spirit is bringing together all the people, events and circumstances to create the best outcome for you.

Step 7 – Release the outcome

Allow the Universal Spirit to choose the best path to manifest your desire and rest in that assurance that all is well. Follow along with inner guidance. Sometimes the path chosen may not be how we intended it to be but trust that the result will be perhaps even better than we anticipated.

Attribute to Successful Living and How to Prevent Stress

One of my subscribers sent this to me and I thought it could be useful to you.

Stress really affects our health and the more that we could cut down on ways to lessen situations that create more stress in our lives, the better our health.

Here's what Justine Aragones shared:

Several months ago, my mother, a public school teacher, attended a seminar on effective stress management thus I am happy to share with you what my mother learned:

1) Fret not thyself.
2) Always count your blessings and not your troubles.
3) Be what you really are. Do not act otherwise just to impress people.
4) Get organized so everything has its place.
5) Say "NO" to projects/activities that won't fit your time, schedule or that will compromise your mental health.
6) Delegate tasks to capable others.
7) Simplify and unclutter your life.
8) Learn to forgive; It's hard to live with a heavy heart.
9) Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.
10) Take one day at a time, one task at a time, one step at a time.
11) Talk less, listen more.
12) KMS(Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.
13) Never propose or promise anything you are not sure to do.
14) Plan on how to spend your money. Uncontrolled and impulsive spending is the root cause of all financial worries.
15) Always take time for simple pleasures.
16) Be good to all and practice kindness.
17) Practice appreciation and instead of criticism, ridicule, scolding and fault finding.
18) Learn to really love people.
19) Delete lies in your system.
20) Pray all the time.


These are some really powerful points and starting next week, each week I'll do an article and expand on each one of these topics.

In my busy schedule, I'm looking for ways to simplify my own life and spend more time with my family, enjoying the moment and really deepen my spiritual connection even further.

Self-Esteem - 7 Steps to Master Your Self-Talk To Create A Positive Self-Image

Your self-talk influences your emotions and ultimately your actions. Think about it. What you're saying to yourself; is it making you feel good about yourself or your current situation? Is it encouraging you to take position action to better yourself or no action at all because you're afraid of what might happen if you did step out of your comfort zone?

With the next 7 steps you can begin to master your self-talk and create the positive self-image you desire.

Step #1 - Self-analysis

The key to change is in first taking an analysis of you. Be aware of your own thoughts and your inner dialogue. Observe yourself; what situations trigger your negative self-talk? Mark them, make mental note of them and look for ways you can counteract the feelings that come with these situations. How could you shift your thinking? How could you respond differently?

Step #2 - Decide on what you want to change

What do you want to change about how you see yourself? Make a focus determined decision right now that you will change your perspective of yourself. Create a strong 'why' - why is this so important to change and why you want to change? Your 'why' will give you something to hold on to when you face setbacks or challenging times.

Step #3 - Get clarity on your new self-image

It's time to fine-tune your mental image. What are you doing? Who are you being? Add visuals as much as possible. See yourself acting out the person you choose to be - walking with head up, shoulders squared, giving that speech, being confident when speaking with others. Begin to explore this area until you have a clear image of what you want.

Step #4 - Create your affirmation carefully

Create your affirmation around your positive mental image. You may say something like, "I am special. I am beautiful and I have unique qualities that make me shine and express my divinity." Rehearse it until you know it. What you're doing is changing your previous negative self-talk and reprogramming your subconscious mind with a new image and changing the cells in your body to respond to your new image.

Step #5 - Connect emotionally to your affirmation

Feel your affirmation. What would it feel like to be bold, to trust your own decisions, to feel socially comfortable in your own skin? Feel it, own it. Your emotions add fuel to your desire.

Step #6 - Place reminders to help you

Use sticky notes and cards as reminders to help you make that conscious decision each day to remember to repeat and connect with your affirmation and your new self-image.

Step #7 - Gratitude

Be thankful for who you are, for your new positive self-image. Why gratitude? Because when you are thankful you are indicating to the universe that you already have the thing that you are thankful for. You are creating the intangible image of your desire which will be mirrored in your tangible/physical experience.

This exercise immediately shifts your thinking and your perspective from seeing yourself as not having, to seeing yourself as already in possession of a positive self-image.

Forgiveness

When you choose to hold a grudge against another you're blocking the flow of your own joy. You may think that you're doing the other person harm but the only person you're harming is yourself. Resolve in your mind right now that you'll release them.

Here's another for you. Release yourself too. What have you done in the past that you so regret, that you can't bring yourself to forgive you. Free yourself from that bind. Let yourself go free to live again, love again and yes, make mistakes again. For only then can you be free to experience more joy in your life.

Every day you practice the beautiful triangle of meditation, gratitude and forgiveness and make them a regular part of your daily routine for personal growth, you'll find that you, not only feel more joy, but you'll feel more alive, more energized as your power grows within you.

Meditation - Do This Once A Day And Get All The Energy You Need (My Favourite Strategy)

Daily meditation moves you from surface to connecting to the heart of the universal Spirit. When all your experiences come from your external environment, you deplete your vital life-force.

Energies from other people - whether positive or negative - are constantly connecting with your own and many of them often drain you. If you are already in a low vibration, meaning that you are focused on worry because of the economy or your personal challenges, you begin to send off that vibration and attract this same type of energy to you.

It's imperative then that you add meditation to your daily routine so you can raise your energy vibration, become energized and be ready to face each day with renewed vigour.

#1. Find a quiet and comfortable place where you will not be disturbed. Do this preferably first thing in the morning. It will set your mind and day in the right direction. Give yourself enough time so you don't feel that you need to be checking the time every minute to make sure you're not late for work or appointments.

#2. Let go of your mental chatter. If you remember something important that you need to do, just write it down on your 'To Do' list so you can refocus your mind.

#3. Relax your body. Let go of the tension in your body. Feel your muscles go into relaxation mode.

#4. Turn your attention to the center of your inner being. You may see the deep void within you.

Find your inner flame. Feel the warmth inside of you. If this is the first time that you're doing this type of meditation then you'd need to pay close attention to where your 'warm spot' is located.

#5. Once you feel the warmth inside of you - what I call the flame of Unconditional Love - allow it to grow inside of you, become bigger and fill your inner being.

#6. Use visualization to see this flame expanding and illuminating your inner being.

#7. Feel the energy of the Spirit as it radiates inside of you and flows through your body.

Again, use visualization to strengthen this energy flow.

#8. You can also direct this energy flow into a particular area of your body; if you are feeling drained, feel your body becoming energized. As you focus on the energy flow you can feel the intensity of it as it grows.

#9. Continue to allow this energy to fill and satisfy you inside. Bask in the rays of Unconditional Love as you would the rays of the sun on a warm summer day.

Repeat this exercise throughout the day as you feel yourself becoming flustered or drained. Spend a few minutes connecting and tapping into your energy Source.

Change Your Life - How to Change Your Life Using Your Most Powerful Tool, Your Thoughts

Changing your life is an internal process. But most time when we want to create the change where do we start? We look at the circumstances and change our actions. Now, that may work for a while. But unless you’ve made the internal equivalent what happens is that you’ll end up back at the same place as before – starting but losing will power and then give up.

Your thoughts influence every aspect of your life. Your thoughts are the starting point of all change.

Every thought brings into action certain physical tissues and produces an actual physical change in the tissue. We're changing each time we have a thought and as our physical tissues change they give off that energy that attracts the same kind of energy.

Every thought then is a seed and cannot express itself as anything other than what it is. Every seed's purpose is to grow when it's sown in the soil. So every thought sown in our subconscious will find a way to express itself physically. When we choose our thoughts consciously and keep choosing these same thoughts over and over again, they will begin to grow and eventually manifest in our physical reality.

How can you use this knowledge to your advantage?

Think of and concentrate on the things you desire and give less and less room for the things you don't want to occur in your life.

So what does that look like?

How often do you think about the results you want? Once per day, per week, per month? In order to saturate your mind and then affect your cells to change your subconscious programming, you need to, several times per day, connect with your desire – connect with the image of what you want to manifest. 

Each day express thankfulness for the good that’s already in your life and for all the good that’s coming into your life. This is the process of leaving less room to think or fuss about what you don’t want.

If you find that as you try to change your life that things are not working out quite as you hoped, stop and analyze your thoughts. What are you focused on? Because what you’re focused on and are giving energy to is what’s creating the results you’re experiencing.

Here’s where you make the decision to create new energy waves by starting from the inside and change the method of thinking so you can achieve long-lasting change in your life.

Let's look at a practical example - my 10 month old daughter found playing with a balloon quite fascinating. But because she had not yet learned the motor skill of gentle grab, each time she went after the balloon, stretched out her hand to grab after it, the balloon floated further away from her. So she became frustrated and went after the balloon more aggressively. Again, the balloon kept floating further away from her.

It was not until she learned the art of gently but firmly taking the balloon that she was able to hold it and play with it. Other times she'd relax, sit and observe as the balloon floated over to her.

So let's look at 3 mental motor skills you can use to attract what you want to manifest your desires.

Mental Motor Skill #1 - Set your intentions

When you want to manifest your desires, set your intentions for what you want and put your attention to the results you desire and not on what you don't want.

Your intentions are spiritual seeds. So when you set your intentions you're putting your intention seeds into the soil of Universal Spirit. You become in alignment with universal energy that will open the flow to what resources you need to manifest your desires.

Mental Motor Skill #2 - Put your attention on what you want

Put your attention on your intention. What your eyes are focused on creates your reality. The more you are focused on your intention, the more you will go into action mode to create the results you desire. More inspired ideas will come to you to help you on your quest.

Mental Motor Skill #3 - Let go of the outcome

Set your intentions but let go of the outcome. Allow the Universal Spirit to work on your behalf and synchronize events at the right time to match the results you want.

Self-Empowerment Checklist - Don't Start Your Day Without It

Becoming self-empowered requires that you develop a routine which becomes your habit and your lifestyle. Every day you do things that are either empowering you or disempowering you.

When you use this self-empowerment checklist, you'll find yourself feeling more energized and ready to face each day with a fresh outlook and powered up with more life-energy from within.

#1 - Silence

Have you ever heard the saying that still waters run deep? Silence is powerful. It quiets your mind, relaxes you and gives you a sense of peace and purpose. Even though as you sit quietly it seems like nothing is happening on the surface, you're not running around depleting your energy, you are actually regenerating your mind, your cells and allowing the universal energy to restore your life-energy.

#2 - Fill up on life-energy

Allow the energy of love, peace and joy to fill your consciousness. Become aware of love; feel it in your inner being. Become aware of peace; let it calm your mind, knowing that all is well in your world. Become aware of joy. Joy fills you with enthusiasm and puts an extra pep in your step. Joy is not dependent on your external circumstances. You can choose to experience joy in the midst of adversity.

#3 - Cleansing

Allow the energy of the Great Universal Spirit to clean the negative energy, the debris, from inside you. Just as you would take regular baths to clean your body, you also need to take a spiritual bath to clean away all the low energy. Here you have the opportunity to raise your energy level.

#4 - Forgiveness

Forgive yourself, forgive others. Make this a conscious decision. You may also ask the Holy Spirit to show you if you are harbouring any grudges in your heart. Listen quietly and consciously forgive, let the person go with a blessing even if that person is you.

#5 - Gratitude

What are you thankful for today? You are reading this article, so that's a place to begin. What about the fact that you are alive, you are here, today is another day for you to turn your life around or help someone change his or her life? You have the breath of life in you and the possibilities of the day await you.

#6 - Set your intentions

What do you want to accomplish today? Set your intentions now. Be clear on what you want and let it go, release it into Spirit hands and allow your day to unfold.

#7 - Be open to what the Spirit has to offer

The day is filled with endless possibilities. At this moment you are creating your life. Be open to what the Spirit has to offer you. Have an open heart and mind to the direction that the Spirit is taking you today. Don't become too rigid in your schedule that you miss the opportunity the Spirit has placed in front of you because you were too preoccupied with your own agenda. Remember, the timing may not be the most convenience but it will be the most rewarding when the Spirit opens the way for you to realize your goals.

Are you committed to changing your life?

Often times we get excited about our dreams, we decide what we want to do, set out our plans and may even get started on it. Still, some others are in ‘getting started’ mode and yet others are in the ‘I’ll do it someday’ mode.

Which category are you in?

Maybe you got started in the right direction but then life happened. Things came up that got you off-track and you lose momentum.

The key to success in anything is endurance – knowing how to get back in the game in spite of setbacks.
But what if you’ve been doing this for a long time and you’re exhausted from trying and being disappointed each time? What do you do?

That’s where your ‘why’ for wanting to change needs to be stronger than your will to give up.

What pushes you forward?

What keeps you trying to improve that relationship?

What keeps you focused on growing your business?

What helps you get up again when you feel that your self-confidence is shaken, that you begin to feel other people are better than you and you can’t shake the ‘not good enough feeling’?

You’ve got to decide this. What is your ‘why’? Why do you want this relationship to be better? Why do you want to get into a relationship in the first place?

Why do you want this business? What difference would it make in your life?

What would you do or become if you are self-confident, if you believe in yourself?

What would it mean to you if you deepened your spiritual connection?

Now that you’ve figured out your ‘why’, what would happen if you don’t achieve your goal?

What would this cost you in time and money if you stayed where you are?

If you keep things the same way with your relationship what would happen? Could you continue living this way?

What would happen if you didn’t succeed in your business?

If you didn’t deepen your spiritual connection, what would happen? Would you continue to feel empty and lost?

Giving up is not an option. Facing adversity is not the ticket to throwing in the towel.

Believe me, I know how it feels to want to improve my relationship, my business, my spirituality and you come face to face with obstacles that at times challenge me.

But when you develop the, what I call, the ‘bulldozer mindset’, you learn that after you shed the tears, you pull up your socks, square your shoulders and charge forward in spite of the current external conditions because you intend to win in your life.

That’s what commitment to getting the results you want is about.

To enhance your progress, having a strong support system will help you through those tough times instead of having to go it alone. This can make the world of difference for you, especially in days where things are not coming together as you’d hope they would.

You - The Architect of Your Future

As the architect of your future, you have the right to design your life the way you choose. Before an architect designs a house, he must first decide the style of the house or know the style that the owner wants for his house.

When this decision is made, the architect then proceeds to create a draft of the house, tweaking it until it comes to perfection before the blueprint goes to the builder to commence building.

Do you have a direction for your life? Do you know what you want your life to look like? Do you have a purpose?

We are all here to carry out our special purpose here on planet earth. Your talents, abilities and personality all play a vital part in carrying out your purpose. If you feel that you're here just taking up space, think again. Everything and everyone created has a unique purpose, including you. But you must decide that you will find out your purpose and choose to live according to those specifications.

How do you know what's your purpose? What are you passionate about? What do you enjoy doing, creating, listening to, talking about? Take the time to think about it or ask others close to you that will help you figure out what you're good at or what you gravitate to.

Free yourself from past failure and stop allowing that to keep you prisoner. Whatever mistakes you've made, whatever bad experiences you've had in the past that has brought you to this point of thinking that you're nothing and that you have to live according to other people's standards and blueprint of you, let it all go. Start with a clean slate.

Decide right now that you will take control of your life; that you will be the architect of your life. What would your life look like? What do you want to experience? What do you want to change? What would you start doing? What do you want to learn? Who would you be?

Take a pen and paper right now and write down all the things you'd like to do and then write down the order in which you'd do them and when you'd start.

What materials or information do you need to get you started? Gather them now or as soon as possible.

Work on your plan every day until you realize each goal. Review you blueprint frequently. A builder will constantly refer back to the blueprint to ensure that he stays on track with the specifications of the architectural design.

If you encounter obstacles along the way, it is not necessary that you ditch your plan, just find another way to work around it to give you the results you want, adjusting your timeline if necessary.

Are You Willing To Change Your Life? Here’s what to do

Changing your life is more than just desire. Everybody wants to make a change in some area of their life, whether it is to lose weight, become more self-confident, improve your relationship or deepen your spirituality. But the real question is, “Are you willing to change?” There’s a difference between willingness and wanting to change your life.

Let me use myself as an example. After the birth of my 5th child I knew I needed to start working out to get back into shape. I didn’t like the way I looked and I wanted to lose off the extra pounds. I wanted to but wasn’t willing to exercise at the time. It felt difficult and my mind just didn’t want to go there.

I went back and forth with this until finally I couldn’t take it anymore. So I started doing some stretches and warms ups but nothing was happening. Yes, I couldn’t take it anymore but it was only when I got really serious and said that I had enough that it lit a fire under my ‘wanting to’.

I looked for information to help me get started. I looked at diet plans, set my schedule first thing in the morning, before I went out to work, to go for my morning walk and jog. It was tough but I pressed through until I was making progress towards my goal.

The weight was dropping so fast one of my co-workers said that she felt like she wanted to start her own diet program as well. I got focused and determined each day. I upgraded my workout, added new routines in the mix and got even better results.

You see, it’s one thing to say that you want something. But it’s a whole other ballgame when you’re willing to do what it takes to get the results you want. Because when you’re willing, you’ve made the commitment to take action instead of just wanting.

You can have all the knowledge about how to do stuff but that knowledge would only be taking up head space if you’re not putting it to use to change your life.

So what do you do when you want to be willing? I know I was there too. I knew I had to work out. I wanted to get to my goal but I was honest with myself. I remember saying to the Spirit, “I know I must exercise but I feel like I’m not willing to go there. Please help me to be willing.” It didn’t happen right away but when it did happen I was on fire.

Go ahead right now and ask the Spirit to help you make the next step and to be willing to take action every day until you get the results you want.
