Happy Thanksgiving + Rising up Over Limitations to Bring Out the Unique in You

Happy Thanksgiving to all my U.S. readers. I hope you have a splendid day tomorrow with family and friends.

Do you allow your limitations to hold you back? Your limitations, whether physical, mental, emotional or educational can keep you from making forward progress, if you let it.

If you allow your limitations to override your desire to succeed then you’ll find yourself feeling stuck in life – getting excited about finally making a break through only to be overcome with the fears of your personal limitations.

Let’s look what you can begin to do right away to rise up over your limitations to bring out the unique in you.

Focus on the positive outcome

As you fuel your emotions with the joy of positive outcome, you’ll find that the thoughts of your limitations holding you back become more diminished as the strength of your success builds. What you focus on and give attention to expands and overtakes your life.

Let’s look at an example. Say that you feel that you want to start a new career or get a job in a new field but you feel that you’re limited educationally in a particular area, what can you do? You can either focus on your lack of knowledge and decide to not take any action at all or you can analyze your strengths and weaknesses, see what you need to bring your skills up and take action in that positive direction.

Now, you might say that you don’t have the money right now to go back to school or take a course. Here’s where you’re focusing on your financial limitations. How can you shift your focus, your attention to help you move beyond this obstacle? Start with what you have available. Get knowledgeable using the resources that are currently accessible to you – the internet, the library, local seminars. What you’re doing is positioning yourself into moving closer to your goal.

Work out a financial plan where you can start saving in order to pay for your course. Start with what you have and keep moving forward and tweak as you go along. Your current job may not pay a lot right now but you can take a closer look at how you’re spending your money. Are you getting the best out of your money? Brand name products do not always mean better. You may be able to purchase the same thing under a different manufacturer for less money. Don’t get caught up in the ‘brand name is better’ mental conditioning. Carefully analyze your expenditure and look for ways to cut back so you can redirect your money wisely.

Is the way you see yourself negatively affecting your relationships?

Because you think that you’re not good enough or beautiful enough you think other people feel that way about you too. That may not necessarily be true. People do pick up on your personal energy however they may not share the opinion you have of yourself. Your negative view of yourself may be preventing the people that care about you from getting close to you.

Develop a positive self-image. Instead of becoming defensive, analyze yourself and take inventory of your strengths and those positive things about you. Also take note of your weaknesses but only to observe and find ways to improve them so they too also become your strengths.

Bring an end to your procrastination

Procrastination will bring any dream you have to a halt. Decide to move forward and after you’ve made the initial decision reaffirm your decision each day until you reach your goal. Then take action every day. A parked car gets nowhere. Get help when needed to shorten your learning curve.

What other things can you do to overcome your other areas of your personal limitations?
