1) Look at your own personal experiences
What experiences have you gone through that you know other people are going through right now? What did you do to get through these experiences? What would you do differently or what would you change? What lessons have you learned that became valuable nuggets in your life? You can begin to share your experiences and knowledge with other people who are currently going through a dark time in their lives and feel that there's no hope or end to their issue.
2) Become a good listener
Sometimes a person just needs someone to be a good listener as an outlet to unload what's on their minds. They may not necessarily need advice but just someone to listen to them. And as they release all of the negative energy they're feeling they can actually begin to see the solution to their problem more clearly.
As a good listener, you need to listen objectively - give the person the floor to fully express themselves, knowing that they're not being judged by you. You are the source of strength at this moment.
3) Believe in them
Sometimes we need to believe in others even before they believe in themselves, before they may even see the value in their own lives and in their talents. If you see something of value in another, you can encourage them to go forward towards their dreams. You can help them see the value that you see by believing in them and help them to unlock the hidden gems in their lives.
