Getting my body back Friday - A Clean Diet for Permanent Weight Loss!
I found this really great resource by Kathryn Martyn that dives deeper into the do's and don'ts of a clean diet for permanent weight loss.
There's so much information on what to do to lose weight and many of it does not spell F-U-N. I think this is a very realistic natural way to live your life and still enjoy the benefits of a healthier body. I totally agree with taking it one step at a time and making the small adjustments to getting to your ideal weight. These small adjustments are essential to permanent weight loss and eliminate frustration in the process.
If it ain't fun, why bother? Here's the article and follow the link to read the rest of it. It's worth reading every word.
Getting Started on The Clean Diet
If you want to lose some weight then following a healthy eating plan is a good start, but allowing someone else to dictate exactly what, when and how much you can eat is crazy making. Guidance is good but ultimately you must learn to make better choices in your eating which leads to your gaining the ability to maintain your new shape after the weight has been lost. The Clean Diet is the answer.
What is the Clean Diet?
The Clean Diet means different things to different people. My version is less strict than some because frankly I'm not a competitive body builder and I don't have a modeling contract. Unless you must maintain a specific body weight (as actors sometimes do for instance), you probably are of the same mind as I; that being, I want to lead a basically normal life. Eating out sometimes, enjoying parties sometimes, and generally not feeling like I have to "watch what I eat" or suffer the consequences. The way I eat is sometimes called the non-dieting approach because I don't diet, but I do pay attention. That's what the Clean Diet means: paying attention to what you're eating.
What Can I Eat on The Clean Diet?
Vegetables: Enjoy unlimited raw, steam, baked. Go for it. I don't know anyone who got fat because they ate too many vegetables and that includes carrots, beans, corn and potatoes. Unless you are allergic, there is no reason to shun fresh vegetables. Yes they contain carbohydrates. Get over it. Wean yourself from sauces, and learn to like them without added butter or salt. Vegetables like carrots and beets for instance are very high in natural sugars (that's the point -- nature intended to give you sweet things whereby you'd WANT to eat them and would consequently get adequate Vitamin C among other things).

Action Thursday - 5 Action Steps to Nurture your Way to Success

Follow the 5 steps and take action everyday to grow your personal garden of success.
Action step #1 - Examine the soil
Make sure the soil of your environment is healthy to encourage successful growth for the goal you're working on. Surround yourself with positive thoughts, reading and listening material and people.
Action step #2 - Check your seeds
Your thoughts are the seeds you sow into the soil of your subconscious mind which will grow and manifest in your outer world. Choose carefully and when you've chosen, nurture it everyday with your positive emotions.
Action step #3 - Regular watering
Water your desire with positive thoughts of success followed by inspired actions which is all a part of the creative process.
Action step #4 - Weed your garden
Keep an eye on your thought garden to ensure unwanted thoughts are not entering in to overrun your new garden. Pay attention to your emotions as it is your internal guidance system that let's you know if you're in a positive vibration that will encourage personal growth.
Action step #5 - Protect your garden
Many things are competing for your attention. But if you protect your inner garden from the bug of negativity, you will ensure that you will enjoy your personal success harvest.

Success: Nurture your Way to Success - Part 3

1) Weed your garden
Consciously remove all thoughts, emotions, words and actions that try to compete with your new garden. This may seem challenging at first because you're uprooting old stubborn habits. But persistence is the key to success in anything you do. Keep at it. Soon enough you'll begin to see growth which will encourage you to keep moving forward.
2) Protect your garden
Keep out garden invaders. Caterpillars, deer, rabbit, all kinds of bug try to invade the garden to feast on the healthy foliage. A prudent gardener does his/her best to keep them out and/or eliminate them.
You too much be vigilant in protecting the garden of your mind from outside invaders that will destroy your hopes and dreams for success. Gardeners often use the companion planting method to keep out unwanted pests. For example, the gardener may plant onions among broccoli plants to protect them from garden invaders chomping on their leaves.
You can also devise a protective mechanism for keeping out the negativity which discourages you from your goal. Hang out with people who will encourage you. Find books that will motivate you. Watch videos, listen to audios, encourage yourself, pull up on past successes in other areas of your life - do whatever you can to keep you on track as you nurture your way to success.
And when your harvest comes in, you'll be overjoyed that you stuck with it. The lessons learned along the way, the growth and progress you've made on the journey it would be worth it all.
What struggles are you having nurturing your way to success? What are your garden invaders?

Success: Nurture your Way to Success - Part 2
1) Check your seeds
Make sure you are planting the right seeds for the harvest you want. If you want oranges, you don't plant apple seeds. Make sure you have the right 'thought seeds'. For what you think about constantly, nurturing with your emotions daily will continue to grow.
What are you consistently thinking about? Whatever harvest you want to manifest, start with looking at what you're constantly focused on. Poverty thoughts will never bring you abundance harvest. Also, repetitive thoughts of sickness will not bring the harvest of health. Likewise, overweight and fat thoughts will not yield the fruit of being at your ideal weight. You've got to identify the harvest you want, sow the thought seeds of the results you desire in the soil of your subconscious by constant repetition.
Check your emotions. Your emotions energizes your thought seeds and they are your internal guidance system to let your know if you're on the right track in the creative process.
2) Regular watering
Everyday, water the garden of your relationship, your business, your health, your spiritual life with positive thoughts, emotions, words and deeds. Don't dig up your seeds because it seems like you're not making progress. This action will definitely ensure that you fail to create the success you desire.
Your emotions and inspired actions will provide the momentum necessary to encourage the growth process.
