Getting My Body Back Friday - Who Are You Going to Believe About Your Health?

Have you accepted a negative report that now defines your health status? Or have you accepted the belief of your family history of being overweight as your own? Your belief in a thing can either help you or keep you bound to conditions as they are. You can choose to accept these negative reports as your own or you can choose to redefine the outcome of your health and ideal weight.

Who are you going to believe? Are you going to believe that your family's health and weight history will be your reality as well? Or are you going to choose your own path and experience a healthy lifestyle?

Here are 3 steps you can choose to change your belief.

Step #1 - Examine your belief about your health and weight

What belief have you embraced as your own that's hindering you from breaking free in your health and weight? By identifying the beliefs that's affecting your life you can begin to deal with and eliminate them.

Step #2 - Sow a new thought seed

You may have accepted the negative belief for a long time and the root of that belief may have gone really deep into your subconscious. Now is the time to mentally uproot it and replace it with new thought seeds of health and wellness. How can you do this? Consciously choose to release the belief of your illness and choose to replace it with the seed of health and wellness.

Step #3 - Nurture the new thought seed

For years you've nurtured the seed, then the tree of a negative health report sprung up. You've accepted it as your own. Now it's time to disown it and begin to daily nurture the thought seed of perfect health and ideal weight.

Begin to confess each day, affirm and declare to yourself and to your body that you are whole. Your faith, your belief in your wellness, has made you perfectly whole. As you continue to do this, taking your wholeness into your own hands, embracing it into your subconscious, your body will respond to this nurturing process transforming each cell into manifesting perfect health.

Getting My Body Back Friday - Expressing Gratitude to Enhance Weight Loss and Improve Health

Being grateful and expressing that gratitude can add tremendous value to one's health and well-being putting you in a positive vibration to attract more healing energy into your life. Stress and frustration deteriorates the body. So when you're in the positive vibration of gratitude you're able to draw in the flow of life energy into your body.

We all know how awful it feels when you're not feeling well, when you're not at your peak and more so a prolonged illness can strengthen that feeling. But as you begin to shift your mindset into an attitude of gratitude, you immediately open the flow for life-giving healing energy to begin to regenerate the cells within your body.

What about weight issues?

When you look for the good things about your body and your life and start expressing gratitude for those things you already have, that feeling of feeling bad about your weight starts to loosen its grip on you. It's like turning on the light in a dark room. That negativity has to fall off.

What happens in that state of gratitude?

You become energized to continue on with your workout routine. You look at yourself in the mirror and say, "I may not be at my ideal weight yet but I feel good about me. I'm alive and well." What you're doing is reducing the resistance inside of you so your body receives the message of feeling good from you.

Many of the commercials send the message that something is wrong with us when we're not at a particular weight and as we accept this into our internal programming we begin to feel that way. And so begins the struggle of wanting to lose weight now and a long journey of frustration. The sad part about that is that we find it difficult to accept ourselves and even love ourselves because we don't measure up to the 'status quo'.

Feel good about where you are now. It does you no good to be caught up in a vortex of inferior feelings because you are not at the ideal weight. I know what this feels like. But until I came to the point to looking at myself in the mirror and appreciating my body and being thankful for my health and being a fertile woman, I could not appreciate what I already have.

What can you start to feel thankful about today?

Getting My Body Back Friday – Take Control of your Mind to Achieve Your Weight and Health Goals

When you set out to get your body back to your ideal weight or achieve certain health goals, you’ve got to put your mind into it as well. Your body and mind must be in sync. If your body is doing one thing – engaged in a routine exercise program, and your mind is off thinking – I could never achieve my goal or this is so hard, you’re creating resistance within your body. You’ve got to allow body and mind to be on the same track in order to gain the results you desire to achieve.

You must first create in your mind the results you desire and believe that you can and will arrive at your goal. Then do what you can along with the inspired ideas that come to aid you to achieve your goal. You see, because your thoughts attract like thoughts to them to manifest your predominant thoughts and emotions, when you begin to think that it’s too difficult to reach your goal, you’ll start attracting thoughts which create conditions and circumstances that will help you affirm your belief that it’s too difficult for you to gain the end result you desire.

Take control of your mind and shift your thoughts to it being easy to reach your ideal weight and health goals. Shift your thoughts to receiving inspired ideas effortlessly to help you get to your goal. You’ve got to see what you’re constantly thinking, feeling and saying to yourself that’s sabotaging your progress and change the inner dialogue to change the outer results.

Here’s an action step to take this weekend. Find a quiet place to really sit down and think and feel your emotions about your weight and health progress. What is your consistent self-talk? Listen to your body as well as you’re asking yourself these questions and feel the energy your body is giving off. Now look for ways to change that energy and begin to allow your body to feel the progress you’re making towards your goal.

Remember the movie Ella Enchanted on Monday’s post? She willed herself out of her mental enchantment. You could do the same to break free from what’s hindering the release of your progress.

Changing your life may seem like an overwhelming frustrating process. But it doesn't have to be if you're given simple doable step-by-step strategies that will get you from where you are to where you want to be.

Getting My Body Back Friday - Using Visions Boards To Reprogram Your Mind For Better Health

Your internal programming controls your outward experience. So whether it's your weight or other areas of your health, you need to return to your subconscious mind to reprogram it to yield to you its power to reap the benefits of physical well-being.

For the most part, our physical ailments are the results of negative emotional issues harboured within our bodies. These unreleased negative emotions become blockages within our bodies affecting us in the form of physical illness and/or increased weight issues.

So then, how do we use vision boards to help us reprogram our minds to better our health?

Before we get into using vision boards, let's first deal with the emotional issues affecting us. We first need to set time aside where we can do an internal detoxification program. We know about physical detoxification to help us lose weight, but what about an emotional detoxification program to release the emotional toxins of anger, resentment, guilt, grief, pain etc?

We need to first take the time and consciously examine ourselves and begin to release these negative blockages so they can free us from within in order for the body to do what it naturally does to ensure optimum health.

Now let's get into the usage of vision boards.

You'd want to collect images of the ideal image you'd like to attain if it is you desire to lose weight or you can get one that shows a person that's healthy and enjoying their life. This image you'd put in a prominent place so the image can be imprinted into your consciousness, which will in turn send it into your subconscious mind where, if nurtured, will continue to grow from within you until it's finally expressed in your physical reality.

The work must first begin within where you are being changed inwardly as you begin to see yourself embracing and living the life of your desired image from your vision board. Your vision board image becomes your life style and experience.

The combination of releasing negative emotions, your emotional detoxification program, with your vision board visualization both work together to produce the effects you desire to externalize as you begin to change from the inside out.

Getting My Body Back Friday - Wisdom to Unlock the Door to your Health

Watching what one eats is necessary to nourish the physical body. Physical exercise is also an important element to maintain good health. But most importantly, one needs to deal with one's spiritual connection and thought process to ensure overall health.

If our thoughts are not in harmony with the spiritual laws we reap the results of this disharmony. We cannot expect to have long lasting physical success and make the progress we desire to have if we are harbouring feelings of worry, fear, anxiety, low self-esteem and any other negative emotions which hinder any results. These emotions produce resistance in our bodies and inhibit any health success we're trying to make.

When we remove these negative emotions from our lives we become open to receive the wisdom of the Spirit to unlock the door to our health. Wisdom comes from being in harmony with the Universal Mind of God, and by acting on this wisdom in the form of inspired ideas, we are moving with the wind of the Spirit and going with the flow of health.

The key to our wholeness begins within - with our inner connection with the Universal Spirit and our thought patterns that are in harmony with the Mind of God.

Not getting the results you desire? Check your spiritual connection, check your thought patterns. Are they in harmony with wholeness, in health? Do you see yourself as whole? Do you see yourself at the ideal weight? Do you accept this as your belief?

Start from within and work outward to create the change you desire to manifest.

Going natural

Getting my body back - Day 81

As a way to make my hair more manageable it was permed around the age of 11. I've kept this perm up until the age of 30 when I made the decision to go natural.

We put many different chemicals in our hair to improve the look; whether to fix too frizzy, too curly, or too stringy, there's a product on the market which for the most part contains chemicals in it. These products were manufactured to assist us but many of them end up damaging our hair in the long run.

The best way is not always the easiest or most popular, but the benefits are most rewarding. I've been tempted many times at the outset of this decision to give up the task, which for my hair type, could involve many hours.

The benefits? My hair is healthier than it's ever been, longer than it ever was. And it's given me the opportunity to pull up on inner creativity producing new hairstyles. I recall asking the Spirit of God to show me a way to effectively manage my hair and find hairstyles that were appealing to me especially when I had to attend a special event. I found that I got complements from other people where ever I go; they're fascinated by my hair - if they only knew, huh?

Changing what you do with your hair may not be an adventure you're ready to embark on but there may be other areas that you may need to consider going natural; for example, eating more natural chemical-free foods, natural skin creams or oils or natural home remedies for common ailments.

I was recently listening to a Youtube recording from Dr. Mercola and his statement was that if you cannot eat your skin cream then it should not be put on your skin because whatever you put on your skin enters into your blood stream. I would say that includes whatever chemicals you put in your hair, as well.

The benefits of going natural? A healthier you!

Fuelling words: I consider the things I put in and on me to ensure I encourage a healthier me.

To eat meat or not

Getting my body back - Day 80

For the last few months I've been thinking about the foods we consume and how we could improve our nutrition intake.

We've recently been making more changes to our diet, especially in the consumption of meat. I have to admit; I love and enjoy eating meat. I was brought up on eating meat and love the variety of meat dishes my husband cooks. We've already cut back on our bread consumption and replaced it with more fruits and vegetables. We've began lessening the amount of meat we have on a daily basis and taking it a bit slowly, using other foods as substitutes for meat.

I've also considered some scriptures which prompted me to question whether or not we were even designed to eat meat. In the book of Genesis 1, it refers to God creating herbs, fruit and vegetation for food.

Daniel 1:12 speaks about Daniel refusing to eat the king's meat for 10 days and opted for a vegetable diet which made him and his friends healthier looking than the other men.

Consider also fruits and vegetables, these are live foods. Fruits come right off the trees, and vegetables come right out of the ground which is best when you can grow your own minus the pesticides.

Meat on the other hand, the only way to get it is to kill the animal. Fruits and vegetables - live foods, meat - dead animal, dead food? This is just my personal observations.

It is said that you should not leave meat out because it begins to decay if not refrigerated. Refrigeration slows down the decaying process but it does not prevent the inevitable. What exactly goes on in our stomachs from constantly eating meat over a long period of time?

I've found an interesting article that goes into deeper details about meat, click on the link below.

Consider your own diet and health factors and make the necessary adjustments to improve your health.

Fuelling words: I consider my diet and ensure that what I consume is working with my body to produce energy and optimum body function.

Change ourselves, change our world.

When we heal the earth, we heal ourselves - David Orr

We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children. - Native American Proverb

Changing Inside Out Now! Getting my body back - Day 19

Carrots in love.

This is the reason why you should love your vegetables because they love each other and plus it's healthy for your body just as love is healthy for you.

Just like Mama always says, "Eat your vegetables!" Now you know why.

Carrots, rich in Vitamin A, promote growth and repair of body tissue, healthy eyes, good night vision and a strong immune system, bringing about change from the inside out.

When we love what we're doing, we have fun doing it and it makes us want to continue engaging in that activity over and over again.

Music does something somewhat magical to us internally. It seems to cause our brain to send a positive message to the rest of our bodies. Adding music to our daily routine gives us that extra 'pep' in our step and turns on the fun mode.

Music reaches places in your soul where words may not touch.

Today, I've added some Beyoncé energy to my exercise routine. It was quite enjoyable. The kids had fun, too.

Fuelling words: Music is the melody of the soul.

Routine: Warm-ups, stretches, aerobics, toning and strength exercises, cool down.

Visualization - keeping focus on my goal; healthy, strong and my ideal body weight and shape.

Deep breathing - relaxes the muscles and sends oxygen to the muscles where exercising alone would not reach.

Changing Inside Out Now! Getting my body back - Day 18

What’s your nutritional value?

Every fruit provides different nutritional values and benefits.

Citrus fruits and strawberries are rich in Vitamin C, and help wounds heal, strengthen blood vessels, build connective tissue, healthy gums, skin, and promote strong teeth and bones.

Carrots are rich in Vitamin A and promote growth and repair of body tissue, healthy eyes, good night vision and a strong immune system.

Our differences and variations in talents provide a wide array of ‘nutritional’ values and benefits for us and others to sustain our well-being and well rounded life.

Teachers at varied levels and fields educate our society, bringing awareness to many different aspects of our world.

Specialized doctors study in depth specific parts of the human body. A brain surgeon’s ‘nutritional’ value is rich in the knowledge of all aspects of the brain and its wiring. His benefit to society provides resolution for brain injuries, abnormalities and dysfunctions.

A paediatrician’s ‘nutritional’ value is rich in the knowledge of children’s illnesses and is beneficial to all parents as a place to go when their children are ill.

Businesses, with unique ideas, provide us with a variety of services and products to choose from making us a very rounded society.

What’s your ‘nutritional’ value/contribution? It may be to inspire, to care for the sick, to be active in your community addressing its core needs, sing songs bringing joy to your listeners, or dance adding to the ‘nutritional’ needs of others in some way or another.

Whatever the ‘nutritional’ benefit, know that you can make a valuable contribution to the health and wellness of society.

Fuelling words: I focus on achieving my goal so I can be an example to my children.
