Getting My Body Back Friday - 3 Reasons Why We Stop Using What Works to Achieve Our Goals and 2 Cures to Fix It

Do you find that you start doing something and then it works but somewhere along the way you stop? Why is that? In this article we'll look at 3 reasons why we stop using what works and we'll look at 2 cures to fix it.

We all have different experiences and perspectives that affect the way we do things but I think we can break down these down into about 3 main reasons why we don't do what we know works or that is right for us.

1) Life happens

We get busy, we put it off and before you know it, a week has gone by then we become unmotivated lose momentum and find it difficult to start again. I know that this has happened with me when trying to lose weight. I know I need to exercise. I know I need to leave off the junk food but some days I just feel for that junk kick lol and those days are not always on my cheat days. I get busy with the family, my business, and just life on a whole. So yeah, I could totally identify with that.

2) Stuck in the old rut

We're so used to the old and then the old becomes easy - our old habit comes back easily. Face it; we've been doing what we do for a long time so when we make a change we focus on the outward change and not the inward habit - the mindset that creates that change in the first place. And then what happens is that the old internal programming kicks in once again.

3) We didn't make it a habit

When we don't make 'doing the right thing' a habit - first creating it from within - yes, using the visualization process - then it becomes easy to abandon the dream as we change our focus.

So now it only leaves us to ask, "What's the cure?"

Cure #1 - Create a new habit - retrain the subconscious mind - your internal programming.

This has to be a conscious effort that's repeated over and over. That's what I had to do with my weight program. Each day I consciously made the decision to go out for my walk and whenever I slacked off my body would yearn for exercise. So that would get me back on track - even if I didn't walk, I would do something to keep things moving again - that's the power of the internal programming.

Cure #2 - Adding pleasure

We do more of what we enjoy doing. So when we add pleasure, enjoyment to the things we're trying to change - the outcome? We want to do more of it.

Coming back to my weight loss program example; I actually began to enjoy walking and working out. That's an accomplishment for someone who didn't like to exercise.

I focused on something that I enjoyed doing and let that motivate me - which was playing with my children - so I wanted to be strong and full of energy to do that.

Did you know that you’re losing out on what life has to offer by allowing low self-esteem, inferiority complex and lack of self-confidence to control your life? It’s time to take back control of your life. It's time to take control of your mind and finally break free from negative self-image, fear of failure, feeling inferior and not good enough...from what’s holding you back from really living your life!

If you are ready to make the change I can help you. Go here to find out how.

Getting My Body Back Friday - Don't Let a Lack of Encouragement Stop You From Achieving Your Goals

Feeling discouraged? Have no one around to encourage and support you in achieving your goals? Don't let a lack of encouragement stop you from reaching your desired results.

If you are surrounded by family and friends who don't see and understand your vision don't let that stop you because you may be the light for them to follow, to show them that they too can achieve their goals and live their dreams.

Sometimes all it takes is one person who's willing to stand up in support of their dream and the others will follow. Many uncharted lands have been crossed by people who were willing to take the risk and create their own paths.

They did not wait for someone to show them the way. They followed the strong desire in their hearts to make a difference in their lives and the lives of their families even if they were the only ones who had ever done what they were doing. If you are willing to go all the way, dare to take the risk, the universal power will be available to help you cross to the finish line.

Here are some nuggets you can use to help you stay encouraged on your journey to achieving your goals.

Nugget #1 - Encourage yourself

Sometimes you may be the only cheerleader on your team. You may be the one to do your own motivational self-talk. Find a song that will keep you encouraged and stir up your energy and creative juices inside. Pat yourself on the back. Praise yourself. It's what you're saying to yourself that will make the difference in making it to the manifestation of your goals.

Nugget #2 - Find a group of like-minded individuals

If you don't have family and friends who support you, find a community or online group where you can share experiences and encouragement. You don't have to go it alone. Many support groups have been set up for many different topics. Just find one that meets your needs and participate in them.

Nugget #3 - Use motivational material

Borrow from your library, purchase or watch online motivational material. YouTube is loaded with all kinds of positive videos you can use to listen to some great people who share their experiences and how to's. Take what resonates with you and use it.

Nugget #4 - Develop an unstoppable mindset

Let nothing stand in your way of achieving your goals - "I'll keep moving forward one step at a time until I reach my goal. I'm successful. I awaken the Spirit of greatness within me. I will overcome every obstacle that stands in my way. I am strong." Focus on your goal, own it and strengthen your mind.

Nugget #5 - Connect with the Universal Wisdom

Even though I have listed this as the last it should be the first thing you do to overcome lack of encouragement. Let the Universal Wisdom be your guide and inner strength. Send your roots deep down as you spend time in quiet meditation. This is where you go beyond your will power to gain power from within. You'll draw exactly what you need, when you need it and at the time you need it.

Getting My Body Back Friday - Experience the Joy of Success

Today we'll look at an excerpt from Daily Word, Unity on experiencing the joy of success. If you find yourself dealing with inconsistencies on your health journey, here's something to help renew your energy and give you the extra boost to keep going until you reach your goal.

"As I embark on any new endeavor, the excitement of a fresh start can be exhilarating. Sticking with it, however, requires that I develop the spiritual faculty of strength and use it daily.

Whether I am adopting a new healthy habit or leaving an unhealthy one behind, raising a child or starting a new job, I remain steadfast. Obstacles may arise and I may experience my motivation waning, but my inner strength carries me through regardless of any obstacles.

I meditate and invite in new awareness. I listen for guidance from within, while affirming my strength and resilience. The spirit of God within me is my source of spiritual strength. In God consciousness, I overcome any challenge and experience the joy of success."

If you feel like you've reached your rope's end, you've had enough, shift your thinking to, "there's always another way," look within to the Spirit and for the answer you need to keep going. More energy is available, more ideas await you, more inspiration is at your fingertips when you ask and are open to receive.

Weekly Progress update:

My workout - Did interval training - interchanging between running and walking.
I turned this into a game of tag with the children so while I'm working out I'm also spending time with the family and having fun at the same time. Dad also joined in the fun.

My challenge - Scheduling workout time.
Between work and family responsibilities I've experienced some challenges this week in getting in my workout every day.

My resolve - My plan this coming week is to incorporate more of my workout into my daily schedule as well as have set times to work out on certain days.

How did you do this week?

Getting My Body Back Friday - Starting the Year off with Zest to Achieve your Health and Weight Goals

Now that the festive season is coming to a close you don't have to end the celebration but you can celebrate your life and the fact that you are here to continue to manifest your divinity on earth. Today brings with it a fresh start and the chance for you to continue to embrace your body as the earthen vessel which carries the precious light and life within its core.

Let this year be the year that you consciously set aside the time each day to spend connecting to the energy of the Spirit within. Feel the healing vibration as it moves through your body and enliven every cell. Feel the feelings of the healing virtue and envision your body being energized and renewed.

Nurture your body with your love, peace and joy. Release all tension and dislike for the way your physical body looks at this time and love yourself. It is the only body that you have. Destroying it with self-hatred because it does not measure up to the so-called status quo would only create more havoc.

Be grateful for where you are now and thank your body for bringing you through another year and now look forward to what this new year has to offer - filled with new life and energy.

Feed your body with foods that are filled with life that it may be nourished from nature. Listen to what your body is saying to you and become in tuned with it. Your body cells are filled with intelligence and as you learn to become more in tuned with what your body is saying you will know what your body needs, what it is asking for.

Allow the light of the Spirit to shine through you from within, as much as possible. The more you release all the negative emotions that are keeping you bound from enjoying a healthy lifestyle, the more life from the Spirit will flow through your body like the refreshing flow of a debris-free river.

This is your year. Make it the best ever! Happy New Year to you and your body.

Getting My Body Back Friday – Experience the Presence of Unconditional Love to Improve your Health and Weight Loss

Where no love exists only leaves a place dry and lifeless. Unconditional Love empowers us from within and lights our way. But in its absence, we lose the vitality of life and darkness creeps in and occupies a once well lit area of our lives.

How does lack of love affect our health and our weight?

Unconditional Love is the life force within us and where ever this life becomes blocked by the darkness of negativity we experience poor health and weight issues. Lack of love may not necessarily come from other people but may be experienced by our own personal dislike for ourselves.

Experiencing Unconditional Love

When we allow the power of Unconditional Love to flow through us, we are allowing the freshness of life to revitalize our inner being which in turn affects the cells in our bodies to operate at a level of wholeness. As we draw life from the Presence of Unconditional Love, it makes it easier to love ourselves; we become changed in the presence of love’s embrace. We begin to value who we are and this starts the renewal and healing process within.

Take the time today and let your inner being become drenched in the power of Unconditional Love so you can experience all of what love has to offer and be completely whole in spirit, mind and body.
