Getting My Body Back Friday - How to Feel Good About Yourself - Ways to Lift Your Spirits

You can lift your spirits in many ways in order to feel good about yourself. Whether you're feeling bad about your weight, your physical appearance, your level of education, your personal image or anything else, you don't have to allow these external things to dictate the way you feel about yourself.

Feelings can be changed by just shifting your perspective as well as your focus. So let's look at some ways you could use right now to do this.

Look for the beauty that's within you

We often look at other people's beauty in admiration - whether it's their physical or inner beauty or their personality. And that's okay. But we all have an inner beauty that's unique to each of us. And with the same admiration you have for other people's beauty, you need to look at your own beauty. In so doing, you'll begin to feel good about yourself instead of feeling down because the other person has something you wish you possessed.

Help someone

You energy level soars to a higher level when you help other people. The interesting thing about helping others is that you help yourself in return. The rewards are immediate as well as long-lasting. The seeds of your generosity grows forward way into your future and matures into abundant fruit in your life.

Do something creative

What's your talent? What do you enjoy doing? Do something creative - paint a new art piece, write a new song, create a story. Think of something that you can do well and then do it. Don't stop until you've completed it. You'll feel good about your accomplishment and about yourself. Who knows what other creative ideas might emerge in the process.

Express Gratitude

What could you be thankful for right now? You may not be at your ideal weight yet. You may not have the physical appearance you would have preferred to have or you may not have the education you wished you had right now. But you can still express gratitude for what you do have, which may be a whole lot more than what many others don't have.

Can't think of anything? How about being thankful that you're able to read this article for starters so you can begin to implement these strategies right away. And by the way, there are many people who are unable to read or don't have access to the internet or who cannot see to read even if they did have internet access.

Think about that for a second and be thankful for what you do have right now.

Exercise and eat well

When you workout you'll find yourself more energized throughout the day and the chemicals being released into your body will automatically begin to help you feel good about yourself. Eat a well-balanced diet with lots of fruits and vegetables - live foods - that will feed your cells. This not only helps you feel good physically but it will help you feel good emotionally as well.

One thought leads to another and builds on the initial thought. So what else can you do to lift your spirit so you could feel good about yourself?

Happy Thanksgiving - Showing Gratitude - Never Taking Life for Granted

Happy Thanksgiving. Wishing you and yours a blessed day filled with gratitude.

Showing gratitude for your life can make the difference between taking life for granted and experiencing a fully enriched life full of joy and contentment.

Showing gratitude causes the seemingly simple things in your life to become magnified and appreciated. You begin to extract the joy out of every moment and every event in your life you encounter. In this state of gratitude, your vibration is elevated and you feel satisfied within.

Start with something small

If you feel like you have nothing to be grateful for, start with something small - at least something that you take for granted each day. When you lay in your bed express gratitude for a warm comfy bed that you could snuggle up in every night. How about your warm cozy blanket?

And as you lay there, let your mind think about other people who have no bed, no blanket and send love and comfort to them. Say a prayer for them and feel your level of appreciation soar. This can be a very sobering exercise especially when we're complaining about how bad things are with us. Take it a step further and share with someone in need.

Show gratitude to the people in your life

Now is the time to show gratitude to your partner, your children and your friends while they're here with you. Don't wait for when your children are all grown up to begin to show gratitude for even having them - although if you've never done it when they were at home, now is a good time to start.

Express gratitude to your partner, this may be the turning point in your relationship that's needed to bring you both closer together. Decide what's most important here.

Make gratitude a mindset and a lifestyle

When you make gratitude a habit you'll see everything through the eyes of appreciation. Practice the habit of gratitude as soon as you awake every morning, throughout the day and the last thing before you go to sleep.
A life filled with gratitude radiates joy and connects you to peace.

Whenever troublesome situations come look for the good even in its smallest form and shift into gratitude mode. You'll learn to appreciate everything and take nothing for granted. Familiarity causes us to take things for granted after their initial excitement is over. However, gratitude brings renewed appreciation each day and helps us see the familiar from a fresh perspective.

Here's a special thanksgiving gift for you - a Special Report on having an Attitude of Gratitude.

Tips for Recognizing Your Own Inner Beauty

Do you see the beauty in others and are having a difficult time seeing your own inner beauty? Are you accepting a negative image of yourself?

Your beauty is hidden inside of you beneath all the negativity you've convinced yourself that's who you are. You were born with unique gems - those talents and personality that belong only to you and no one else. Yes, others may have similar talents and personality but not quite like yours. No one is quite like you.

It's time for you to go treasure hunting inside of you and extract those hidden gems, your own inner beauty buried among the rocks of your negative self-image.

Tip #1 - Recognize where your true beauty comes from

You've been crafted from Love that gives life to all. Love and life are inside of you. You come from a rich heritage of life which many people take for granted. As you accept this truth into your life, you can view yourself from a different perspective and allow that inner beauty to be released into your outer experiences.

Connect with the Light of Love inside of you and let it fill and expand inside of your inner being.

Tip #2 - Look at your unique personality traits

As you connect with the Light of the Spirit, this Light enhances your unique personality. How do you make others feel around you? How do you treat others? Do you enjoy making others laugh? Do you enjoy helping people? Continue to grow and enhance your personality traits. There's no need for you to wish you were like someone else. You can develop your personal style of dealing with situations and sharing with others out of the beauty that's already inside of you.

Tip #3 - What are your unique talents?

What are you good at? What do you enjoy doing? Look to your own talents and find the beauty in what you have to offer. Have you been given the talent to sing? Then, don't be shy, sing. Let there be a purpose for your voice. What impact would you like to have on others when you sing? Define a purpose for your talent and let the beauty of your inner being shine through your gift.

What other talents do you possess? You could ask your family and friends for help if you're not sure - just make sure that you speak to someone that's supportive of what you're trying to accomplish in your life. You see, there may be things about you that you may not even recognize and even think that it's a big deal and because you're not valuing what you have, you may not see the richness of what you have to offer. So you may need some outside help from someone you could trust.

Self-Esteem Tips - Tips for Recreating Your Personal Image

The personal image you have of yourself influences your self-esteem. You can recreate your personal image by using a few simple tips, shifting your mental processing and perspective of yourself.

Tip #1 - Awaken to and identify the truth of your divine nature

You've been created out of Love - Love that nurtures all of life - animals, trees, galaxies. You are part of this intricate creative design. You are connected to the All that has all wisdom, all knowledge and all power. You are a perfect masterpiece of the Universal Spirit.

Accepting this and shifting your mind to seeing yourself through the Master Designer's eyes immediately elevates your self-esteem. You don't have to be of earthly royal birth or have credentials or earthly status to see yourself as great. You have greatness flowing through your veins. You have greatness interwoven within your cells.

This is the first step to recreating your personal image. Everything else builds on this truth, this foundation. Neglect this and you'll be right back where you started. I'll tell you why, because even when you achieve success in your outer life - credentials, even if you have all the prestige - friends, wealth, if these are removed from your life, you can still stand in confidence because of who you are and your divine worth and not because of what you possess.

These do not define you; they are an extension or expression of your divine nature.

Tip #2 - Build your new image

Who do you wish you could be?

What kind of qualities do you wish to display?

As you ask these questions, they'll give you clear direction in which you can now direct your focus and energy on.

Tip #3 - Change your self-talk

What you're saying to yourself repeatedly is impacting your feelings and in turn molding your self-image into your subconscious programming. So what you want to do now is change your negative self-talk to your new image and let this be your affirmation of truth to transform your mind and recreate your self-image.

Tip #4 - Respect yourself

You do not have to allow others to use you as a doormat in order for them to like you or gain their approval or respect. When you respect yourself you set the boundaries for how you will be treated, what you will tolerate. You don't have to be rude about it, just be confident in your position, and if vocalizing is necessary, you can state your truth peacefully.

Sunday Morning Inspiration - Chakra Meditation Balancing & Healing

I wanted to share this meditation with you as I find it very relaxing. When we play this at home it always calms our children down and sometimes puts them to sleep. It totally relaxes them and even though they fall asleep, I think it influences them on a subconscious level. We all feel refreshed each time.

I hope you find it beneficial as well.

Saturday Tunespiration - If Everyone Cared

If everyone cared and showed love our world would be a different place. If we all recognized the truth of our existence and our divinity and lived from this truth what would our lives be like? We would move mountains. But it all starts with you and me; each of us taking responsibility for our own personal growth, our own reconnection with the Great Universal Spirit, one person at a time.

What can we do to begin to care? Start with the ones close to you because these are the ones you have to live with every day, these are the ones whose flaws you see very clearly. And if you can look beyond their flaws, their faults and still feel love toward them, you would have begin to master the art of love and go beyond the 'I love you because you love me or show me love' and enter into the 'I love you in spite of yourself'.

Does this allow you to become a doormat in your family? No, certainly not. But you can speak your truth peacefully and from a heart of love.

Today's tunespiration comes from Nickelback - If Everyone Cared.

If Everyone Cared lyrics

From underneath the trees, we watch the sky
Confusing stars for satellites
I never dreamed that you'd be mine
But here we are, we're here tonight

Singing, "Amen I, I'm alive"
(I'm alive)
Singing, "Amen I, I'm alive"

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died

And I'm singing
Amen I, Amen I, I'm alive
Amen I, Amen I, Amen I
(I'm alive)

And in the air the fireflies
Our only light in paradise
We'll show the world they were wrong
And teach them all to sing along

Singing, "Amen I, I'm alive"
(I'm alive)
Singing, "Amen I, I'm alive"

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
[ From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/n/nickelback-lyrics/if-everyone-cared-lyrics.html ]
Then we'd see the day when nobody died

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died
When nobody died

And as we lie beneath the stars
We realize how small we are
If they could love like you and me
Imagine what the world could be

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died

We'd see the day, we'd see the day
(When nobody died)
We'd see the day, we'd see the day
(When nobody died)
We'd see the day
(When nobody died)
