Sunday Morning Scripture - The Parable of the Sower
This morning's scripture is taken from Mark 4:1-28
You may have heard of the Parable of the Sower which Jesus taught the people as they gathered. But how does this parable apply to our lives today and how can we use it as a way to measure where we are in terms of believing and receiving what we desire to manifest in our lives. There are four scenarios in this story. The farmer sows some seeds...
Scenario 1 - Some fell along the path
These are people who hear the truth regarding changing their lives and their situation, however never believed or accepted it as truth and because of this, their disbelief short-circuits any kind of blessings or any chance to receive of the abundance of the Spirit.
Scenario 2 - Some fell on rocky places
These are like people who hear the truth and receive the answer to their situation. They are happy that they got the answer but because they've not taken the time to allow it to take root, become embedded and imprinted into their subconscious mind, when the sun of adversity comes, if they're ridiculed by friends or family, if obstacles come to challenge them, they give up. They may say, "Maybe it wasn't meant to be." Their dream no longer can survive because the life producing and sustaining energy needed from the subconscious root is no longer feeding it.
Scenario 3 - Other seed fell among thorns
These are those who hear the truth but other pressing family issues and concerns come up and take them off track from their destination or they changed their minds from what they desired in the first place. Their first desire is no longer being nourished and it ultimately loses power to survive and becomes choked out by that which has now replaced it - it never materializes.
Scenario 4 - Some fell on good soil
These are those whose hearts were ready - they heard the word/instructions of truth, they received it with joy, accepted it, meditated on it and allowed it to become embedded and imprinted into their subconscious programming so it took root and yield its power of growth and manifestation into their lives. These are the ones who have not allowed the pressures of the personal or family concerns or their current situation to dictate the outcome.
But they kept focused on the truth, kept pressing forward toward their goal, kept believing that everything will work out. And when the harvest time had come, the fruit bearing stage, they are filled with the fruit of that which they desired and what they received in return was a whole lot more than what had been sown in the first place.
Like any seed, when you plant it, the return harvest is usually over and above that which was originally sown. Many stand in awe because of the fruit they see, but they had not considered the process by which these individuals had to undergo to get to that point. Many of the onlookers may have been among those previously mentioned in the above three categories.
So which category do you fall into? It's never too late to recreate yourself into the 4th category. Allowing the seed of the truth about your situation to sink deep into the soil of your heart and produce the results you desire.

Mental Exercises - Part 6
Getting my body back - Day 69
As important and essential as it is to consciously focus on achieving your goal and creating that mental shift when necessary, another aspect we need to consider is the subconscious mind.
What is the subconscious mind?
I'm not going to go into any scientific or psychological way to describe the subconscious because I'm neither a scientist nor a psychologist. So in very basic terms I'll describe the subconscious as the inner autopilot of our stored personality and experiences which makes up our belief system.
It's that inner programming that causes you to walk without having to consciously think about how you're going to do that. You already did that when you were perhaps about the age of 1.
It's that part of you that stores all of the memory of riding a bicycle, so even though you may not have ridden one in years, you don't have to start learning all over again; it just comes automatically, maybe a little rusty at first, but all of the memory is still there.
It's that part that stores all of your driving instructions so you don't have to wake up every morning and take a driving lesson over again. This could be quite annoying.
When you're making changes in your life you need to not only make those changes on a conscious level but also on the subconscious level.
Why do you need to change on the subconscious level, as well?
Because everything you've made a habit of doing and have accepted as truth in your experience and to your perceptions have been appropriated in your subconscious. Your subconscious gives power to your conscious and comes in agreement with your conscious decision if you train it to.
If your change is only on the conscious level, before long your subconscious kicks in and short circuits what you're attempting to achieve. So when you say, "I weight 120 lbs when you've been hitting 180lbs, that little voice says, "What? Yeah, right! You wish!"
When you train your subconscious to agree with you, then when you make your statement, the subconscious agrees with you, there's no conflict and the rest of your body moves into alignment with what your conscious and subconscious mind agrees on. "Oh, why then are we at 180lbs, something's wrong here, we need to be at 120 lbs."
How do you make the changes on the subconscious level?
You already have the answer to this one. Go back to when you were learning to ride a bicycle, or drive a car - repetition, practice.
You listen for the subconscious response to the achievement of your new goal. Hear what it says and repeat the new order to it, over and over until it's implanted into your subconscious. You keep doing this as many times as necessary until you can finally say with all of you, "I can and know I can achieve this goal of __________ (fill in the blank).
Fuelling words: I can and know that I can achieve my ideal weight.
As I go about my daily activities, I am consciously emphasizing each bending movement, tightening leg muscles as I go up each step and incorporate stretching in between my activities.

Changing Inside Out Now! Getting my body back - Day 4
Our subconscious mind, the autopilot of our life, is the starting point of where permanent change begins.
In order to create long-lasting change, the message must first be sent to the unseen realm. It begins on the conscious level with a decision being made, followed by the continuous necessary activity, until the new behaviour is set in place.
For example, when you first learned to ride a bicycle, you were consciously aware of all the steps required to keep your balance and control the bicycle. You were focused on the task at hand, allowing your body to learn every movement and with every practice session solidifying the new action and making a permanent imprint on your subconscious mind.
This new imprint is stored away for every time you mount a bicycle. Your autopilot kicks in without you having to start all over again, consciously practicing each step. You automatically pull up on the imprinted habit even if you stopped riding for a few years and decided to take up riding again.
As you begin to create change in each area of your life, you make a conscious decision and effort until it sets and becomes a permanent habitual part of you; you become one with it. That is where the long-lasting change begins and continues.
Fueling words: I am changing my body from the inside out.
Routine: Warm-ups, stretches, aerobics, toning and strength exercises, cool down.
Visualization - keeping focus on my goal; healthy, strong and my ideal body weight and shape.
Deep breathing - relaxes the muscles and sends oxygen to the muscles where exercising alone would not reach.
