How to Overcome Fear and Redirect your Energy into Courage

Are you feeling crippled by your fears? We've all experienced the inhibiting feelings of fear at one point in our lives. Many live this way on a daily basis. We could be so much more than we're currently expressing, not because we are incapable or lack talent, but because we allow our fears to hold us back from doing the things we truly desire to do.

The following 3 steps give you a basic idea of how you can redirect your energy into courage.

Step #1 - Stopping feeding your fear

Whatever you focus on and fuel with your emotions begins to expand. Focusing on your fear attracts more of the same thoughts which are vitalized by your emotions. The more you feed your fear the bigger it grows allowing the crippling effects to overtake your life and hinder you from moving forward toward your goal.

Step #2 - Refocus your attention

Take your attention off of your fear, what could happen, because it's not happened yet. Most often what you're afraid of has not yet occurred. Therefore you have the opportunity to turn your attention from that which may occur that currently holds you captive to what you truly desire the outcome to be.

Step #3 - Redirect your energy

The energy, the emotions that you're feeding into your fear can be redirected into courage. Just think for a moment, how would you be if you had the courage to do the thing you're currently afraid of? The key word is 'be'. Because before you can act, you first must 'be' inside. It is your 'being' afraid that causes you to act in fear. The flip side would be, your 'being' courageous, feeling bold, would cause you to act your courage and boldness out.

Fear begins from within so it must be dealt with from within. Shift your internal energy through the way you're thinking into thoughts of courage.

Overcoming Fear: Take the Limits Off and Free Yourself

Because of fear, we are limited in our thinking and therefore limited in our experiences. Take the limits off your mind and free yourself. If you ever allow yourself to feel all the desires of your heart without the inhibition of fear or limiting beliefs, you'll find that your imagination can carry you to the far end of the globe and go places beyond your current location. Did you know that whatever you imagine you can experience?

Nothing is too big for you to experience. If you can imagine it, it is already in existence in the unseen world. You cannot imagine what does not already exist. And because of this fact you can have what you desire if you only take the limits off.

Strategy #1

Shift your thinking

The way you think, and therefore your perspective, affects your experiences. When you're afraid, you feel fear because of what you're thinking - the anticipation of what you don't want to happen. You're not experiencing the unwanted experience at that current moment in your reality. Therefore, if you shift your imagination from seeing the negative experience onto the outcome you do desire, you'll begin to immediately feel a shift in your emotions and ultimately your experience changes.

Strategy #2

Visualization

Use visualization to put you into a positive energy vibration. Whatever you focus on will expand. If you focus on fear, fear will expand. If you focus on the outcome you desire, that will expand as well and move you the desired results.

Strategy #3

Get your emotions involved

It's one thing to shift your thinking and use visualization, but the real energizer comes from adding the emotional connection. Get your emotions involved and really feel what you desire the outcome to be. Look within to your heart and choose to allow yourself to feel the emotions of having the desired outcome materialized. Don't allow limitations to short-circuit your results.

Strategy #4

Believe and act

If you believe and accept that you can have the thing you've imagined then you must act on that belief. You've heard it said, "Act is if." Act as you would if you'd already possess the thing you wish you had. Take the necessary action steps that you would take if you were already experiencing your desire. This will put a knockout punch to your fear and send it packing and at the same time empowering you to free yourself from all that's entangling and holding you back.

You're an unlimited being. Walk in the power and strength of this unbounded way of life. Practice over and over until it becomes a habitual way of living.

Overcoming Fear: What is fear?

Fear is the anticipation of something terrible happening in the future. Whether it's one second, five minutes or five years, fear arises in the mind and is always because of something you don't what to occur. Think back of a time when you were afraid, see if the fear was because of what you were experiencing at the moment or as a result of the thing you didn't want to happen. You'll see that the latter is true.

Fear is a learnt behaviour coming out of our personal experiences and conditioning. We were taught what we should fear - fear of others ridiculing us; not measuring up to the 'standards' of others, not falling in line with what is called 'the norm'. Many of our fears originate from our childhood - fear of not getting the correct answer in class or being bullied in school etc.

Many of these behaviours have become embedded and deep-rooted within us and were never addressed. As a result, we grew into adulthood with these same fears controlling our lives and hindering us from moving forward, exploring life and living our dreams. Some in very subtle ways being justified as being cautious, others more blaring that cause us to shrink within and suppress what we truly desire and opt to remain in the 'comfort zone' as to not face the unknown.

As we come into the inner awareness of our true identity, as we enter in to the light of truth, fear falls away as darkness dissipates when the light is turned on in a room. We do not have within us the Spirit of fear but our origin comes from the Source power of love which, when we open our lives, will flow in and through us, producing the fruit of a bold and confident mind. We'll begin to understand that we have within us all we need to turn our lives around, to control our environment and decide what comes into our lives because of what we allow to remain and grow in our hearts, in our thoughts.

When we listen to the voice within, the Source of our strength, we gain confidence to overcome all the external arrows of fear that try to penetrate our armour of faith to poison and shake us down and move us from our power.

Begin to make it your habit to connect with and rely on the advice of the inner Wisdom of the Spirit to lead you through the path that is right for you in spite of what fears may try to impose on you.

Submit Fear to the Presence of Unconditional Love

As you open and allow love to flood your heart you feel safe, no need to be defensive. Love is gentle and greets you with open arms ready to fill you. The Presence of Unconditional Love wraps you in the protective arms of love and keeps you safe from harm. Submit fear to love. Turn your face away from fear and turn to love.

Regardless of where you are, where you’ve been or what you’ve done, the Presence of Unconditional Love awaits you to enter and experience true love and true freedom. The more you release your fears over to Love, the more Love you receive into your life. You cannot hold onto to fear and experience all that Unconditional Love has to offer.

Perfect Love will casts out fear but only as you release fear out of your hands (your heart) that you may fully embrace love. The more you release, the more qualities of Unconditional Love you experience, and the deeper the experience, the more you begin to glow with the Light of Love.

Hindrances to coming out of your bud

Tending the garden of the heart - Day 109

The blossoms come before the bud and sometimes many of these buds never make it to the next stage due to varied reasons. One of them is a result of adverse weather conditions and others may be due to improper care or lack of water. Whatever the reason, they never reach their full potential of blossoming.

Similarly, with our lives, we may be faced with many different issues that hinder us from coming into full bloom. But the main issue is usually based on fear which expresses itself in many different ways.

Hindrances to coming out of your bud

1) Fear of Success

Sometimes when faced with the possibility of achieving success fear of success grips the heart - fear of having a lot of money may cripple a person from coming out of their bud. Therefore, they shrink inwardly and stop the emerging process of blossoming from occurring.

2) Fear of Attention

Flowers in full bloom draw attention, not only of insects - bees and butterflies - but also of people; we like to admire and smell these beauties. Some people are afraid of all the attention, sometimes due to an inferiority complex that makes them think that they're not good enough or undeserving of such attention. Ever noticed flowers? They never care whether anyone approve or not or if they deserve to bloom or not. They do what is natural for them - bloom.

3) Fear of being ridiculed

Some people are afraid to succeed because of fear of being ridiculed by their family or friends. "Who do you think you are?" or "Who are you trying to play?" or "You think you're better than us?" or " You can't hold on the all that success because you're nothing but a loser." Flowers, even if they're growing among weeds, still do what they do naturally - bloom.

4) Insecurity

Fear brings insecurity and if a person is insecure, the fear of losing what they have may overwhelm them to the point of making them become afraid of blossoming.

Flowers have no problem displaying their beauty. They're not showing off. It is their nature to allow love to set them free to bloom. It is also in your nature to bloom where you are - in your family, your community and your world.

Flowers bloom right in your back yard and so should you. Bloom where you are and let the bees and butterflies find your sweet nectar and call their friends.

Lay aside your fears and allow your natural beauty to emerge from within and allowing you to shine and in the process, let others share in your beauty, as well.

Changing Inside Out Now! Getting my body back - Day 25

Getting better by the day

Whenever you start off doing something new it may seem hard at first, but if you persevere, that same thing becomes easier as the days go by.

Many times we fail to attempt a new task because of fear. Fear that we may not be able to do it or trying and failing. Even if you've tried something and failed, and perhaps failed miserably, it doesn't mean that you should abandon the task altogether. It just means that you may need to do some more groundwork first in order to build up to that level.

For years I've been watching my 10 year old daughter do cartwheels and bridges and said that if I tried them I'd probably break something. But recently, while I was doing my workout, I decided that I'd try doing the bridge. It didn't work out for me. As a matter of fact I couldn't even lift myself off the floor. Yes, we had a good laugh.

Instead of me tossing the idea out and saying, "I knew I couldn't do it," then abandon the idea entirely, I looked at what kept me from completing the position. My hand muscles are not strong enough to push me up off the ground. The ground work that I need to engage in and have added to my daily routine is doing push ups to strengthen my hand muscles. Once I'm strong enough, I could now attempt to try the bridge at a later time.

One thing I've noticed though, is that I was able to complete, what my daughter calls, the stag sit position. When I first tried it, yesterday, I assumed the leg position but was unable to take my hands off the floor. Today, I tried the stag sit position again, and I was able to, not only take my hands off the floor, but lift them all the way up, stretching them upward towards the ceiling. This was quite an accomplishment for me.

As a matter of fact, I've had to increase my workout repetitions as they had become much easier. I've also added new routines to make me work harder.

Whatever new task you set out to achieve, don't allow its toughness to discourage you from moving forward. Take it one step at a time, do the groundwork and before you know it, you will be ready to take it to the next level.

Fuelling words: I'll master whatever groundwork is needed to reach my objective.

Routine: Warm-ups, stretches, aerobics, toning and strength exercises, cool down.

Visualization - keeping focus on my goal; healthy, strong and my ideal body weight and shape.

Deep breathing - relaxes the muscles and sends oxygen to the muscles where exercising alone would not reach.
