Parenting Children - 4 Ways to Help Your Child Follow Inner Guidance

One of the most precious gifts we could ever give our children, apart from our love, is to help them follow their inner guidance system. It will help them build confidence and believe in themselves and not have to rely completely on others to guide them.

1) Listen to them as they speak

When your child comes to you and shares his/her thoughts, give a listening ear. If you are unable to give your full attention at that moment let your child know and set a time when know you could listen without distractions. This gesture will make your child feel that whatever he/she has to say is very important.

2) Ask questions

Get your child to be clear about what they're saying, especially if it's a young child, by asking questions, e.g. "Why do you think that?" or "What made you feel that way?" You're engaging in conversation and encouraging your child to think through things clearly.

3) Offer praise

When your child has said something profound, use the opportunity to praise him and encourage him to listen to his inner voice. Your child may be the voice of wisdom for you to look at your situation from a different point of view or reminder of the wisdoms you've imparted to her. Be open and receptive. She's not too small to share guidance. Say, "Thank you for the reminder and the wisdom."

4) Offer additional suggestions

Your child's explanation may not always come out the way we'd articulate our words as adults, you can offer suggestions to help guide her in expressing herself. When you offer suggestions in a kind and encouraging tone your child will know that he has your support no matter what.

Our children rely on us for guidance even though at times they may act as if they know it all. By being a supportive parent and keeping the communication door open, they'll know they have a place to go when life becomes complicated for them.

Living in the Realm of Inner Knowing - Part 2

When you live in the realm of inner knowing you become consciously aware that all knowledge is available to you at any time for whatever situation you encounter. So even though you may not consciously know the answer right at that moment, you can consciously remind yourself that the answer you need is within you and it will come to your conscious mind at the right time. Sometimes the answer may manifest at unexpected times, through unexpected people, places or events.

How exactly do you get into the mind frame of living in the realm of inner knowing? Here are a few steps to follow.

1) Relax

Whenever you find yourself in any situation that you need an answer to, relax. Release the tension. Getting flustered puts you out of the flow of wisdom and creates that blockage to receiving your answer. When you're relaxed, your mind becomes clear and sets the ground to invite the answer.

2) Believe

Believe, know, accept that you already have the answer and it will come to your conscious mind/into your conscious awareness. It's all there within you. Your belief connects to Divine Wisdom and creates the channel through which the answer proceeds.

3) Concentrate and focus

See through your mind's eye the answer you desire for the question you have - concentrate and focus on it as you relax. The answer may emerge right away or it may come at a later time. Be open for the perfect timing.

4) Expectation

Expect the answer to come to you. When you are in 'expectation mode' you are sending energy vibrations out to the universe that will connect to the wisdom you desire and bring back to you the wisdom you desire.

5) Listen closely

The still small voice within will express itself in that inner knowing within you bringing that assurance that you know, that you know. It will bring the inner confidence that this is the answer you need. Turn your attention inward to the seat of Divine Intelligence within your inner being by silently listening closely for the inner guidance.

No matter what situation you're in, you can own your life by living in the realm of the inner knowing instead of being confused and always looking for someone else to tell you what to do. You have the inner guidance system that will lead you on the right path.

Inner Guidance: Follow the Inner Guidance

Each one of us has the inner guidance, the wiser voice, to direct us on the path that we should follow. As we spend time in the silence, we learn to listen and recognize and develop this inner prompting.

Because we all are so unique, God speaks to us in ways that we each understand; perhaps through symbols, billboard posters, inner prompting of the heart, the scriptures and even nature. We develop communication tapered specifically to our unique built which comes about as we develop our relationship with our Creator in the secret place.

In the secret place, we find peace, love and freedom - our sustenance. Not only do we learn to listen but we are also invited to ask questions and receive divine wisdom and inner guidance to resolving every issue we face and every path we need to take.

Begin today, even if it's 5 minutes (increase the time as you go), to spend time in the silence, listening. See yourself connecting with God in your inner being as you look within your heart. Experience the Love as it flows within you.

As you continue to practice this daily, allowing the spark of love to be fanned into a flame, the joy of living becomes evident in your life that even in the midst of adverse conditions, you remain stable. You have a quiet place to go to renew your strength and faith.
