Tending the garden of the heart - Day 59

In order to tend the garden of the Spirit, you must first be willing to use your gifts and abilities to not only benefit yourself but others, as well.

Every gift and abilities given to each person was given with the intention to benefit the whole. When we neglect to develop them and use them, we neglect to satisfy the needs of others and also deny ourselves of the benefit of such usage.

Your specific talents and abilities were given for specific purposes in the place you occupy. The people that you come in contact with await your contribution, whether or not they are consciously aware of this.

No one you come in with contact with happens by accident, whether it's for five minutes, five years or five decades. You may be harbouring inside of you the key to someone else's path to fulfilling their destiny.

If we had not started a garden in our neck of the woods, the land would have simply remained as lawn in our yard. We would not have known the joys of growing this garden, and we would have missed the valuable lessons and inspiration gleaned from this experience.

I would not have been sharing these inspired thoughts with you at this time and you would not have been getting new ideas for your life had you not been reading this. Not only would we have been denying ourselves of this awesome experience but you would have been denied the opportunity to be inspired at this point in your life, perhaps at the time when you needed it the most.

In addition, the seeds we purchased would not have had the opportunity to grow and begin to blossom to fulfill their true potential in this plot of land.

Come into communion with the Spirit to take a closer look at your God-given talents and abilities and uncover ways in which you could begin to use them in the garden of the Spirit.

Have you fallen out of the human race?

You were born for a purpose.

When you were sent to earth, you were sent with an innate mission for the time period in which you would live.

Your talents, your abilities, your characteristics, all are to add to and enhance the family you were to be a part of, the friends you would meet, the roles you would play in society to make a worthwhile contribution in your area of planet earth.

Have you discovered your purpose?

Have you taken the time to analyze you? Or are you standing by on the sidelines watching on as others develop their talents, contributing what little they may have, to the advancement of the human race and wish you were like them?

Have you given up on life because of too many disappointments or fear of failure? What hinders you? Get back into the race and start living, be a contributor and share your talents. It may not be for the masses but may be for a small few, but the importance of your contribution may impact and change a life or a generation for a lifetime. Start small, you never know who needs to hear your message, your song, your experiences or other talents you have.

Have you been rejected in more ways than you can count?

Called names you’ve never even heard of or know what they mean?

Have you given up hope that there is a better way to life?

Have you become so discouraged that you’ve thrown in the towel on life?

Have you fallen out of the human race and you’re now standing in the bleachers looking on?

It’s time to get off the side benches and get back into the race. It’s not a sprint, but a marathon. You have a lot to offer, more than you think. Everyone was born with great potential. Oh, you’ve heard that before, but you say, not you? Think again. You need to stop looking on at others and start looking at yourself. Take an inventory.

What do you have that makes you, you? You know, you were made in the image and likeness of God. That says a whole lot about who created you, who you are and what you are capable of doing.

Image – you don’t just look like Him.

Likeness – you are like Him.

It says you are connected to awesome power and ability if you allow it to have free flow in you.

You are unique and the things you have to offer, no one else can offer it like you do. The experiences you have no one has had these exact experiences with the combination of your personality. You have been equipped with your own talents and abilities to contribute to life and better yourself and others. You have a part to play. Why not start today?

Stop looking on and rejoin the human race. You may say, well I don’t have a doctorate, or went to college or university. What’s that has to do with who you are? You still continue to live whether you have these accomplishments or not, don’t you? There are still people that you talk to or help. It’s about who you are on the inside, first.

Take an inventory of who you are. Before you know it, you will be well on the way leading and winning in the human race.
